Antoine Cason upset about being benched. Blaming others for mistakes.

You guys are idiots. Team goes 12-4 last year. String of injuries and...

-QB needs to be benched for a guy that has as many career interceptions as touchdowns

-All coaches need to be fired. "Ditka could take the practice squad we're fielding to the super bowl. Why can't Ron?"

Sorry to be harsh, but the overreaction party is getting a little loud. Settle the hell down. Injuries happen. And sometimes, they all happen at once.

But what do I know. Let's fire Ron. Grass is always greener on Greg Schiano's lawn, who is available, by the way.

He can say it was communication problems all he wants but it's the fact that he doesn't turn around and look for the ball that got him benched. He's been messing up the last couple of games so I was not mad when he had to stay on the side after getting beat again.

This was the same reason RR benched White after the Baltimore game. He said he wanted him to turn around and play the ball instead of trying to hump Steve Smith from the back.

I doubt the team is imploding anyways.

After the way the defense has played the last few weeks, I am off the fire Ron ship. They have cleaned up considerably. If only our offense could pick it up. There's still time and we are still in the division race.

Benching the players the Panthers chose to sign and/or draft is laughable because the depth is worse than the people on the field.

Cason sucked last night...I wonder, did i not occur to some coach, somehwere to say 'you are playing 10 yards off the receiver, odds are they are going to throw in front of you as you lack closing speed....you need to be closer.'

There is more to being a head coach than just cleaning up your defense.

Rivera still shows the same problems as he did his first year here.  Time management, halftime adjustments, gameplanning, etc.  All remain poor.  The team isn't even competitive anymore.  We are -59 points in point differential and have lost by double digits in 44% of our games.  In 2011 and 2012, I never felt like this team was completely hopeless even when we were 2-8.  Nowadays I don't expect to win a game.

Time management is not a reason to fire a coach. Most coaches suffer from that. I'm not saying he has done a substantial job this season but some of the problems this team has faced could not have been predicted. I mean we have rookies and UDFA starting at important positions all over the team who have done ok but the veterans are now crapping the bed.

We literally have the worst OL in NFL history and an OC who hasn't the slightest clue how to attempt to compensate.

Rivera's specialty is D and to their credit, the D has played much better the last two weeks.  A big part of the Saints' 28 points was our offense's inability to do anything.  Handing them a turnover inside their own 5 yard line didn't hurt either.

The biggest mistakes Rivera has made are promoting Shula and retaining Shula.  The man needs to go.  He's not the root of all problems, but it's not a coincidence that the offense has gotten steadily worse ever since he took the helm.

Yes, if that was his only flaw then you are right.  It isn't a reason to fire a coach.

Unfortunately for Rivera, it isn't his only fault as a head coach as I stated in the post you quoted.  Poor gameplanner, poor adjuster, our team has been below average to flat out bad in 3 of the 4 years he has been here.  12-4 was an anomaly and anyone who is attempting to absolve Rivera from a big chunk of the blame is simply content with, at best, mediocrity.  I am in no way trying to argue Rivera is at fault for everything (he absolutely isn't; this team, at the end of the day, just isn't very talented) but that doesn't excuse him from his poor coaching either.

I'm not advocating firing him at this very instant entering Week 10 next week.  That would be illogical and benefit us in no way.  But Rivera should not be coaching this team in 2015 unless there is a major turnaround in the final 7 games, a major turnaround that I believe is unlikely to happen.

    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
    • I mean there is relevance to that. But I think much of it has to do with the fact that he is clearly likeable. But does that translate to a coach taking his position to the next level like those that have had staying power for many years like Spoelstra? And not for nothing but does how much someone is liked even matter? Across leagues with the Panthers Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney were universally well liked by players. Dave Canales is very well liked. I say you are what your record says. And the record says you got your ass handed to you by a fellow expansion team in the Magic in a game that was over at halftime and that same team went toe to toe with our nemesis who has been handing us L's for over a year now. And if Bam doesn't get his leg swept by LaMelo do we even get past the Heat? Again. It just all boils down to personal standards. I think newer and younger fans will love this. I just want to actually win a real playoff game fam 🤷‍♂️
