NFL London: You Guys Good With This?

There isn't a single reason I can agree with on this. Why the fug is the NFL so hell bent on London? I saw a tweet from a Miami Herald reporter today quoting a league source telling teams in order to be considered for a Super Bowl, they must be willing to give up a home game to play in London.

If I'm still a Carolina Panther PSL owner and the Panthers are scheduled to play in London, that's one less game I can attend and what kind of discount do I get for one less game? As a PSL owner, am I due some kind of refund if the team plays a "home" game in London?

Where you guys at with this?

The NFL doesn't care about the Panthers or their fans. It's evident during most games by the way they're officiated. We also always seem to be disrespected throughout the media no matter how good or crappy our record is.

Long story short, you will get no discount, and they don't care. You should be angry.

" Based on the league’s research, the NFL has 12 million fans in the U.K. According to the NFL, since 2007, the NFL has improved from being the 18th-most-watched sport on Sky Sports to No. 6. Waller said it’s safe to say that the NFL is the fastest growing sport of Sky’s audience."

From what I understand the Barclay's players don't even do media. This really explains why the NFL is being embraced by Europe.

The real fun? Have some preseason games over in Japan. It would be hilarious after the first game ends and the crowd is completely silent and staying in their seats until the players exit

They used to have preseason games in Japan. Not sure why they stopped, but I remember the players absolutely hating the playing surface.

You'd be charged one game less, since it's not a game you can't attend. Otherwise, they'd be playing to empty seats in London because the tickets are held over here.

The bigger question would be the ramifications of the game that gets moved. If it's a high draw game (us-Saints or us-Falcons), what about the money it takes away locally. Does Charlotte get reimbursed? Hotels, restaurants, cabs?

Just stop. You sound so pathetic when you say things like that.

If you think Charlotte has what it takes to host the SB, then it loses nothing from losing a home game. The economy shouldn't rely on that one game.

Goodell is a moron.

He's a businessman and brilliant at making money. That's his job.

A team in Toronto or even Mexico City makes more sense.

They're on the list.

    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
    • Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
