CBS Sports Mock Draft

Would love to get a blue chip OT.  Not sure I trust this organization to find him though.  The last decent OL we drafted was Ryan Kalil and he's nearly 30.  The last decent OT we drafted was Jordan Gross and he's fuging retired.  The third best OL we drafted during this time frame was written off as a bust and cut after three seasons and went onto become an all-pro for the Eagles.  This organization has simply shown a very low ability to evaluate and develop offensive linemen.

I'm not ready to write off Turner yet, but the early returns don't exactly look great.

I hope we don't reach though. I think we win more games and a primo DB may be BPA. Again I also only want in the top half of the first if can play LT.

Google up Iowa's 6'5" 325 lb  OT Brandon Scherff. If half what they say about him is true, then he is the super OT and strong man in the college ranks.

Yeah I don't know why people are still high on the Texas A&M kid.  I know he was touted as the best OT coming into the year, but he's gotten beat plenty of times this year.  Also, Texas A&M has gotten beat down three times already.  Give me Peat at that spot.

Otah was a beast when healthy.  (blood boiling while typing that name)

Also look at Andrus Peat. He handle Lenoard Williams from USC.

Peat and Scherff are the only two I feel that can be that LT than can anchor our offensive line for the next 10 years or plus that's in this draft.

That's like being the 2nd smartest kid on the short bus to school.  This OL only has one NFL caliber player right now.

he's grading out better than the likes of ben grubbs, mike pouncey, jahri evans, logan mankins, and some other notables

he's played well, especially for a rookie and will be a good piece going forward if he continues to develop.

    • There was some pretty egregious missed calls vs the Chiefs in the Lions game, especially Kelce. The completion where he clearly used the ground to catch the ball. The hold in front of the ref as Pacheco ran by where the defender was trying to turn around and couldnt because Kelce had him by the jersey. Mahomes openly taunting after scoring a TD. 0 penalties after double digit the week before. Cmon.
    • People get trade happy and look at resources as barter items. They fail to see them as resources to be used to our benefit rather than someone else's. Right now, Chuba and Rico are massive benefits to us and a strong rushing attack so greatly benefits any passer, much less a young one like Bryce still is.  And the better our running game, the more our offense can eat up the clock, the less time our defense is on the field. And that is priceless, too. Don't mess with the running game. Don't mess with the receivers. Maybe look at our O-line and think we may have hit on something good during these injuries. Look at our D-line and seem some strength evolving there. Our secondary has its good spots and some that are still developing. Our linebacking corps did well this last outing. Our special teams are on a major upswing as of this past week. Heck, even our QB is showing us a little something right now that we can build on. Perhaps putting out a yard sale sign right now might be less advantageous than looking at the team and saying, "You are all part of something good that is happening. We want to see that continue to grow."
