I know of an opportunity to  work at home essentially doing "pure" customer service: answering questions about orders already placed by customers. There is no sales involved just simply looking at your pc screen to help the customer. This job requires that you have a pc with dual monitors, a webcam in which is used for hr photo id, a phone line such as cable/landline no magicjack/vontage, and high speed internet with a speed of a minimum of 5mbps download. The company will supply you with a headset/phone. Also you will have to go to a specific vendor to complete a I-94 form. The vendor appear to be in major cities only. This is ideal for stay at home people or someone out of work. They pay is $10 hour and 40 hours a week. BTW this is for Amazon and a awesome opportunity to work seasonal from the house  for the next few months. It's probably a bit more when you factor in no gas or wear on a car.  Also the fact that this gives flexibility because it's WFH.  Then consider the hours saved per week of not sitting in a car in Charlotte traffic.

Avg call center salary is $12 an hour and given that they are saving on the employee working from home that hourly number should be higher.....but at the same time I worked for $10 an hour selling Christmas Trees when I was laid off a couple years ago for some extra income. It was the coldest winter in history (hyperbole) and would have preferred this.

I had mine at home for 2 days because she was sick and really was hampered because of the attention she required.

It's a good gig for supplemental income and there may be opportunities for permanent positions.  Any extra money around the holiday season is always a plus.
