We have no offense. No defense. No special teams. This is Gettleman's fault and he should be fired.

Don't buy into the hype that he knows what he's doing because you see him talk and you think Tony Soprano. Dave Gettleman is an idiot that was passed over time after time for GM opportunities because competent owners knew he wasn't the right man for the job.

We have no depth anywhere. The best free agent signed this offseason was literally Joe Webb.

What he has done this year is set this team back to 2010 Clausen/Fox/Lockout levels. And for what? Did a 12-4 NFC South winning team really need imploding?

FIRE DAVE GETTLEMAN

YEAH! He should've signed free agents with all that money he has to work with!

bs.

this isnt on him.

not alone anyways.

he gets a pass this year.

Why should he get a pass? He has pretty much allowed our OL, WR corp, secondary, ST to all get signicantly worse. What we are watching is the product of that.

Hurney isn't an excuse. A cap strapped team doesn't take the luxury option of tagging a wildcard DE letting the rest of the team go to heck. You don't tag Hardy, a guy likely to walk the next year regardless, and you continue trying to build a complete ball team

Not much else to talk about. Should we be talking about the awesome coaching staff we have, or the amazing young talent on the offensive line instead? This team sucks and fans are pissed. If there was anything positive it would be a topic of discussion.

Fair enough point. I'm just irked by all the hyperbole and chicken little conspiritards running around making wild assumptions about Gettleman sabotaging the team without looking at the bigger picture. Yeah we suck. There's plenty of good explanations for it, but no one wants to think rationally and take a step back, and look at things objectively.

No money for players = no good players. I just don't understand how people can't wrap their heads around that fact.

No money bc we opted for a luxury tag when we couldn't afford to let our OL, WR, secondary, ST all get worse in order to do it.

I do recall that the decision to keep Rivera was indeed made before Gettleman was hired.

But given that Gettleman hasn't really fired anyone to date (unless you count changing scouting services) I doubt Rivera was in much danger.

I'm not sure there was a reason until now.

Ealy actually dropped way below his projected mock draft projections and fell into our lap for some strange reason or the other, kinda of reminds me of Morgan Moses,do you see a trend here?

Not really.

Ealy has actually shown some flashes and looked about like I'd expect a second round rookie DE to look (similar to how Charles Johnson and Greg hardy were in their first year).

Moses?  Not so much.

On the coaching staff, given that we went 12-4, maybe not.

In the front office, I think some changes could have been made.

Yeah, he's an asshole from the northeast, outsmarted himself; made a mess of our roster. Can't agree more. Hasn't really made a move that's impressed me yet. OH, and nice job extending Rivera. NOT

My sentiments exactly. He is a scout not a GM. He will end up making Hurney look like a hero. Jerry Richardson is a buffoon for hiring the guy and letting him gut the team. Salary cap my ass.

I think after this season its a perfect time to shake things up. I really get the sense that people that are in the FO are very close to Richardson and for a big change to happen there needs to be a big reason. Richardson seems like a man that will give you every last chance to prove yourself before lowering the axe. I think that a good and a bad thing rolled up into one bundle. I also think Gettleman brings that raw business first approach that is needed to balance JR.

Gettleman came in statingthat he didn't want to be the guy who just fired everybody and replaced them with his own people.

I think he might need to be that guy now.

If he wants a winning record he will. Honestly behind the scenes I think he is just as cold and calculating as his moves are. He def rubbed Gross the wrong way and replaced Smith because of his attitude. I really think this whole Org needs a reboot. Too many players just going though the motions and too many more making tons of money for lack of production. I guess we will see if he admits mistake with Harper and cuts him along with Johnson and double trouble.

no DG does not need to be fired now or at the end of this year. now if it happens again next year, then i can see it.

ive said it about 10 times now. $26+ million dollars in dead cap when you include Hardy. not many GM's could withstand that. and dont tell me now that Hardy should not have been tagged either with your $100 hindsight eye glasses.

Same reason I was agaisnt extending both our RBs was why I was against the Hardy tag. That was a luxury move for a cap strapped team.

Can't devote too much to one spot. It cost you elsewhere

Let's face it

Few of us know what goes on behind closed doors

We do know what we see on the field

If we are also totally honest, we know that 12-4 season was a great deal of luck and that was with players far better than the ones we have now

Smith and Ginn Should have been kept. Ginn could get separation and took care of punt returning

Those were simple decisions regardless of the Hardy situation

Those two things alone would have helped a great deal

It is troubling that anybody in a pro environment could ever believe that Bell, Chandler, Shula should have been retained

The film that Rivera values as does Gettleman should have given them the information needed that Hardy was an expensive toy the Panthers could no longer afford. Those 2 saw it differently and here we are

As for me, as a season ticket holder, another lost season, so lost they are not even competitive. I can't even give my tickets away

One day, I'll smarten up and read the tea leaves with this team and sell out and that day is a lot closer than it has ever been and is a very sad statement for me to make

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
