Ask Celibepimp a QB is suppose to elevate the players around him. A Qb should be able to get on the field and Elevate talent. .

Shouldn't he have elevated the bums he played with in pre season.

You see they didn't sit on just Oline moves. They had a bad Oline but they tried to put weapons all around their QB's.

They also brought in a proven offensive mind like Jeff Tedford (not their fault he had medical problems)..

If you do an apples to apples comparison, here's how it looks...

 

- Kendall Wright: 39 receptions, 403 yards, 4 touchdowns

- Justin Hunter: 21 receptions, 368 yards, 2 touchdowns

- Nate Washington: 19 receptions, 267 yards, 0 touchdowns

 

- Kelvin Benjamin: 52 receptions, 768 yards, 8 touchdowns (11 games played)

- Jerricho Cotchery: 32 receptions, 433 yards, 0 touchdowns (10 games played)

- Jason Avant: 21 receptions, 201 yards, 1 touchdown(11 games played)

 

So by himself, Benjamin has touchdowns than the Wright and Hunter combined, and they only lead him by 8 receptions and 3 yards in those categories.

 

As to the runningbacks...

 

- Bishop Sankey: 91 rushes, 357 yards, 11 receptions, 83 yards, 1 touchdown

- Shonn Greene: 49 rushes, 199 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 receptions, 0 touchdowns

 

- Jonathan Stewart: 84 rushes. 323 yards, 18 receptions, 123 yards, 2 touchdowns

- DeAngelo Williams: 56 rushes, 198 yards, 5 receptions, 44 yards, 0 touchdowns

 

I don't really see a clear superiority in production there.

But back to facts....the ONE thing sorely lacking in our passing game is SPEED.  Avant, Cotchery, Bersin are all very good posession WR's.  However, without the speed out there that can take the top off the defense, the DB's and Safeties just sit on the routes and the openings are just not there for Cam.  Thus, he has to try and force the plays.  Go get some damn speed!!!!  And I am talking about Speed that can actually learn the playbook and run decent routes....not the Stephen Hill speed that can't get off the PS.
