stephen hill won't be activated because...

Wait...... we are really going to be upset that Stephen Hill isn't going to play for us?

Have any of you watched him when he was on the Jets? The dude is TERRIBLE. Can't catch, can't run routes. I mean the team that drafted him high and desperately needed him let him go and then no other team even wanted him.....

I understand you guys are upset but be realistic. We have a deep threat in Brown, what his Hill going to add but drops and running the wrong route leading to INTs?

I've been as doubtful of Hill as anyone.

But with that said, I sincerely question whether or not this staff has the talent evaluation skills to know whether he's any good or not.

Wether or not he's good? Maybe not. But I have to imagine itd be fairly obvious wether someone understands the system or not. Hill has had these learning the system problems before, so it's lines up to his reputation.

When he couldn't keep a spot with the Jets, that should have told you guys all you needed to know.

QFMFT. I don't understand why Stephen Hill is being held up as the key to turning the corner on offense. I agree that at this point in the season it's worth giving him a look, but come on. When you fail out of the Jets' offense and are struggling in Carolina, it might be the player and not the system(s). Those teams aren't exactly flush with receiving talent.

Not to mention his dropsies: 47.1 catch rate in 2013. Part of that is on the QB situation, but it's still pretty awful.

Do you really trust the talent evaluation of this team?

no other team wanted him. no other team wants to bother picking him him off our practice squad.

it's not just our talent evaluators.

if anything, our picking him up in the first place may have said volumes about our talent evaluation ability.

Percy Harvin had a freaking 100 yard day in his 2nd game as a Jet. And that's with dag gum REX RYAN!!!

AHGFHHGHHHHH I JUST WANNA SCREAM

Republican Ron cannot be this clueless.

Harvin knew the system the Jets are running. Seattle offense isn't too different from the Jets either.

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
