[Cam] hasn't proven much yet, except he can get hurt.

Newton is a big question mark now, after a poor season for Newton and the Panthers. I tend to pass it off as a year in which any quarterback would struggle, seeing that both his offensive line and receiver corps were denuded after the 2013 season. If I’m Carolina GM Dave Gettleman, I may just let Newton play out his final season, at $14.7 million, and see where he is this time next year. “Cam is the most interesting guy right now,’’ said Polian. “When it comes down to it, he hasn’t proven much yet, except he can get hurt. He’s got some tread off his tire already.’’

Thank Bill Polian, we'll never forget everything you did for this team, putting them in cap hell then bailing because you got butt blasted over not having the right title on the door of your office.

Uhhhh?  Don't really understand how to comment.  My first thought is that too many variables against Cam's style of play to make a judgement.  Yes, he has been hurt and I think that has hurt his play more than the front office lets on, but the biggest problem is the line and second biggest is receivers and then injury.  Just my opinion.

Yep. OL, then WRs, then his injury.....then he plays for a OC whose style doesn't highlight QB play and also goes into games with a "you know what is coming, try to stop it approach"

He says Cam hasn't proven much, as if 2011-2013 did not exist.

Polian hasn't watched Cam's career.

These talking heads have comments on everything. Impossible for them to comment in the manner they do on virtually everything.....bc they don't sit and watch what is and has been going on with players.

As simple as the towel on the head thing. Every talking head equates it to pouting. None of them ever figured out Cam does it up by 21 and in a groove. It isn't an emotional display....but a sports routine

The irony of the Cam being hurt meme: He's only missed one game his entire NFL career, and that was a game the Genius Rivera decided to sit Cam in.

So now Newton's being criticized for playing hurt? When, his entire career he hasn't been hurt, until the OL went to piss, along with the play calling??

Tony Romo plays hurt, Big Ben plays hurt, Brady broke a leg, Manning neck is screwed on with bolts....

It is football. Guys mobile or not....all get hurt

Yup. That's football.

Polian's a tool. That's all we need to know.

Plus, I love when national media discusses Newton or the Panthers, Newton gets 95% of the criticism and analysis as if the Head Coach, OC, and other players don't exist/contribute to the teams year and Newton stats.

Now we know these guys don't actually watch the games, or even care about the Panthers and Newton if they did. But the irony isl they don't even try to give that appearance, that they watch/know the team when criticizing Newton.

    • I'm happy with TMac, but Tyler Warren was last season's Tyler Linderbaum for me in that he was at a position that wasn't one of the five pillars but he was the best player at his position AND one of the top talents in the draft. I cannot fuging wait for the Panthers to start winning again so that those guys fall to us like they seem to for teams like Baltimore & Philadelphia.
    • Still working on consuming all of these so I don't have summaries available, but I figured there might be another Huddler or three trying to kill time before tonight's final preseason game.   Panthers Blueprint: Training Camp The in-house produced Blueprint series has given behind-the-scenes look on the field and off. Start the day with Robert Hunt's family, be in the morning meetings, mic'd up players during practice (Jaycee, Rozeboom, Icky, and Bryce), roster evaluations by the staff, and plenty of camp highlights capping off with FanFest.   Processing Blue (Mike Kaye & Alex Zietlow Mike and Alex are back talking about a variety of topics including but not limited to: joint practice + preseason game vs. Houston, Trey Hendrickson trade rumors involving Carolina, training camp awards, draft pick draft, and various thoughts about the team.   Jordan & Jake 706: Opening Day Another in-house Panthers' production, the most recent episode of Jordan and Jake talk about how to properly balance intensity in practice, react to the starters being shutdown for the preseason finale, share their thoughts on the newest Panther QB, and more.   Raw Room - Ep 278 - Gas Pedal (ft. Mike Davis) Assistant special teams' coach Darren Bates' Raw Room podcast has former Panthers' RB Mike Davis on his weekly podcast. I'm about halfway through this one and it's been a lot of fun. The Raw Room guys (DB, his friend Alex Sweets, former Eagles/Chargers OT King Dunlap, and former Atlanta DB Jalen Collins) are hilarious and Mike fits right in. They talk about his football experience coming up, decommitting from Florida and how he decided on South Carolina, and more. Warning: If you're the type of person that is easily distracted by accents, despite XL being on the team, you might have issues with understanding the Memphis dialect. If you don't care about how somebody talks, just what they're talking about, tune in!
    • Allen was borderline unplayable in College.  He's an absolute unicorn in terms of his career panning out the way it has.
