Panthers 4-8-1, Saints 5-8, Falcons likely 5-8 tomorrow. Again look at the schedules & predict what happens

Just so no one accuses me of jinxing Atlanta/Green Bay tomorrow, let it be known that it is entirely possible that the Falcons win in Lambeau tomorrow night. No one saw us winning today and no one would see the Falcons winning tomorrow. But let's assume they do lose and the records are what I have in the thread title. Remaining schedules:

 

Panthers:

TAMPA BAY

CLEVELAND

@Atlanta

 

Saints:

@Chicago

ATLANTA

@Tampa Bay

 

Falcons:

PITTSBURGH

@New Orleans

CAROLINA

 

It has been SO challenging to predict games this year. Would it completely shock anyone to see any of these teams run the remaining table or lose out? Nope. Anything can happen against the 3 opponents each team has left and shouldn't shock anyone.

 

I think we'll be out by a half game. I think the schedule will shake out somehow so that we would be in with a win at Atlanta and we'll lose one late in part to bad clock management by Rivera. Wouldn't it be appropriate to lose the clinching game due to bad Rivera coaching when his dumb decision to go for the tie against the Bengals instead of the win put us in that position to begin with?

If I'm being really honest though, I think you're right and we'll probably fall short. Bet we lose @ ATL actually.

I hope that  we win out and the saints and falcons lose one of their next 3. We then somehow catch fire and win the superbowl.......however, based on how this season has been going, I predict Saints win out and take the NFC south championship by 1/2 a win. We will then be doomed to another season of Rivera but maybe Shula gets fired.....

      this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.

      The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.

      My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
