If Atlanta AND Cleveland win this weekend....

Damn no one remembers getting blown out to the Packers in 96?

That was the first big let down. I mean ... Super Bowl in our 2nd year?! And 1st in Charlotte...that would've been big...but maybe too big for us at that time in some way...Like we didn't deserve that quite yet, as a fanbase.

But that would certainly be in my Top 10.

Saints won't be eliminated if that happen.

Yes they will be eliminated.

If the Panthers and Falcons win, the Saints are eliminated and it sets up a winner take all game next week in Atlanta.

If the Falcons win Sun and then the following week, they are 7-9.

If the Panthers win Sun and then the following week, they are 7-8-1.

If the Saints lose Sun and then win against TB, they are 7-9....they lose to both Panthers and Falcons on record.  One more loss than Panthers and tied with Falcons (but Falcons would have won both head to head).

I love Kasay, but the defense didn't stand much of a chance to stop Brady once we handed him the ball on the 40 only needing a FG and having the most clutch kicker in NFL history warming up on the sidelines. We all pretty much knew the game was over when that kick sailed OB. The D had a very tough job. Kicking a ball and keeping it inbounds on a 53.3 yard wide field isn't.

Yeah, I know...a lot of factors happened on why we lost...Fox going for two 2 point conversions. But IMO in came down to the D and they failed on the most important drive of the season. oh well...

Might not even make top 10.

1. Kasay kicking off out of bounds in the Super Bowl.

2. Kerry Collins being a drunk washout, then leading the Giants (my dad's team) to a Super Bowl.

3. Trading a second round pick that eventually became the #33 overall pick for a FCS running QB, who would then be groomed as a failure of a slot receiver.

4. Delhomme meltdown against Arizona.

5. Twenty years of existence and no back to back winning seasons.

6. Winning game 1, then losing 15 in a row in 2001.

7. Andrew Luck proactively avoiding the team.

8. Drafting Jimmy Clausen. I knew he would suck, just knew it. I have witnesses from when the pick was made.

9. Somehow being the worst team in the league AND headed for cap hell at the same time in 2010.

10. The Rae Carruth and Fred Lane things happening within one year of each other.

There is a long and healthy tradition of disappointment here. Those are my top items; sure I left out some good ones. YMMV.

thanks for the list of failures...I doubt the list accomplishments is as long.

for some reason, Delhomme's meltdown is the most pissed i've ever been...and it's long list. Talk about coaching- how about pulling a guy when he's just totally lost it.

Funny, but i feel that I'm the only one who would put Smitty being waived when he is still a no.1 receiver on a playoff team not named the Panthers on my top 10 panthers disappointments.  For a decade he was everyone's favorite player.

1. Not winning Super Bowl

2. 08 Cardinals shellacking

3. 1-15

4. Hurney RB magic

5. '13 playoff loss to Niners

6. Shula

7. Smitty being waived

8. Peppers being traded

9. No back to back winning seasons

10. No back to back NFC championships

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
