If Atlanta AND Cleveland win this weekend....

Might not even make top 10.

1. Kasay kicking off out of bounds in the Super Bowl.

2. Kerry Collins being a drunk washout, then leading the Giants (my dad's team) to a Super Bowl.

3. Trading a second round pick that eventually became the #33 overall pick for a FCS running QB, who would then be groomed as a failure of a slot receiver.

4. Delhomme meltdown against Arizona.

5. Twenty years of existence and no back to back winning seasons.

6. Winning game 1, then losing 15 in a row in 2001.

7. Andrew Luck proactively avoiding the team.

8. Drafting Jimmy Clausen. I knew he would suck, just knew it. I have witnesses from when the pick was made.

9. Somehow being the worst team in the league AND headed for cap hell at the same time in 2010.

10. The Rae Carruth and Fred Lane things happening within one year of each other.

There is a long and healthy tradition of disappointment here. Those are my top items; sure I left out some good ones. YMMV.

somehow you and your ilk never blame the defense for not stopping Brady, that was way more disappointing than a kick out of bounds.

As seasonal expectations go, 2004 (post Super Bowl) 1997 and 2006 (post NFCS) are probably still more disappointing.  This one's high up there though.

But as far as what we've had to watch. this one's just been ugly. Ugly enough to even rank up there with the 2001 and 2010 seasons.

5.  2008 Jake Delhomme playoff meltdown

6.  2009 Jake Delhomme Philly meltdown

7. 2013 San Fran playoff loss

8. Atlanta wins and we lose to Atlanta in the final game of the season.

    • just read the thread. I would like to say that the team not being sold to Tepper is an absolute banger of an answer and probably the right one
    • "If you could change any one instant in Carolina Panther history, ... just ONE, ... what would it be? Initial gut reaction when I first thought of this question is Kasay kicks it in bounds on the kickoff, but unfortunately I still think New England wins that game even with that My second instinct was pulling Bene out before he breaks his leg in the playoffs. My crackpot theory is if he never gets hurt we win the superbowl. I refuse to go back and watch the game but at some point Peyton throw an absolute duck that should have been pick 6'd. but because we were on our like fifth outside corner he was slow to the ball. this would have completely flipped that game because I'm pretty sure Denver scored that drive and the next one was the Cam sack fumble
