Harper Says TD Wasn't On Him

It looked like a blitz with zone coverage to me. No way Lukes responsibility was deep middle from the MLB. Had to be Harpers fault. I blame the coaching too though, Harper should have been the one blitzing and Boston should be staying back because you can't trust Harper back there by himself

May not have been. Looked like Luke tried to jump something underneath. He had TE then broke off of him.

 

It looked like a Hybrid man/zone with Kuechly disguised as a blitzing linebacker. The fact that Kuechly was showing blitz puts a lot of it on Harper because there is no possible way Kuechly can be responsible for the entire middle of the field if he's not in the natural position of a middle linebacker.

 

Luke looked like he was playing zone and Harper looked like he was playing man.

 

Luke had the shell underneath and I think Harper was supposed to have the shell behind him, however Harper played the Z wide receiver and once Cameron got behind Luke it was over.

i blame the defensive play call. all but 3 guys rushed the qb. field was wide open. i saw it before the snap. horrible play call.

it was a gutsy call that didn't work.   McDermott would occasionally do this in Philly.  His best work comes when he doesn't get greedy, and/or the line does the work.  

 

I don't know if Harper was right or wrong.  Everyone else had someone so he had to get to Cameron, but you don't want Harper in man on Jordan Cameron down the seam either.

Point is, if you weren't in the huddle you don't know.

Just because you hate Harper and love Luke doesn't mean you have to always shift blame to the guy you hate.

It wouldn't be the first time we showed A gap blitz and Luke dropped to man on a TE

Harper is Fuging lying. He was rolling over to help the DB who was already in good coverage.

Add it to the list of huge plays given up by Sir Grey this season.

Yea let's not jump to conclusions here.  Luke had Cameron over the middle and jumped to cover an underneath route, but Cameron ran right past him.  I had a bad feeling about that play right from the beginning.  Defense was sending the farm and leaving the coverage out on islands.

Harper has been horrible all year long. I'd be shocked if it wasn't his fault.

 

harper has been playing some ball in recent weeks. just bad play call that he was on the end of.

Whether it was his fault or not, not something I want to hear before a huge game next Sunday.  Just call it a bad play by the defense and leave it at that.

only way that was not on Harper, was if they was in cover 0. he would have had the #2 WR on the trips side, and Luke would have the #3 WR to that side. all out blitz with cover 0 behind is very risky. that play call makes no sense with such safeties tho.

Unless you are in the huddle you don't really know.

No need to just flame Harper because he used to play for the Saints

If Harper is your deep safety, then you don't have a deep safety. I'm not sure if he can outrun any of our LBs.
