Do you people really give no credence to the fact that Carolina’s went almost two weeks between games while Montreal played an intense seven game series that just ended Monday? That break was too much to be ready to go, and it showed. The Canes pressed in the first, likely from overzealousness to prove the layoff wasn’t too much. once the Canes settled into their game without pressing, the game was much tighter. Every year, posts in the Panthers forum question how little the starters play in the preseason? Why is that? Because we all know not going at game speed against an opponent can lead to a slow start when the games turn real. Even with prior ECF disappointments, I’m going to hope last night was more akin to starters not playing in the preseason. -
