Tre Boston looking legit

I had my doubts that Boston could do anything this year, considering he missed all of camp and preseason as a rookie.

Thank goodness I was completely wrong.

Boston looks like a legit safety in this league, and not just by getting g those interceptions.

Go back and look at him in the run game. Boston mixes it up along side the linebackers on the run blitzes. Does very well.

He was showing flashes when he first started getting tick, now his game has come full circle. He had a hit on John Brown yesterday in garbage time where he just straight up stoned the guy. I knew then we have found our FS.

That hit was in the second quarter and Brown bounced off because Boston didn't wrap him up. Great example of Boston's speed and hitting, poor example of actual tackling that could have resulted ina big play had someone else not been there to make the tackle.

As a UNC alum and fan, the guy sucked in college and I thought we had wasted a draft pick on him.

After seeing UNC defenders miss numerous tackles this season, give up 39ppg, and rank 119th nationally in defense this season...

It's clear he's actually being coached up now. Very happy with his play so far.

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
