Reasons to feel great about next season

I never start threads, but I think this is important--You already know this stuff, but it may help to frame the situation at this time.

We just went toe-to-toe with the World Champions in their house.  They beat us by attacking our rookies and forcing a few turnovers.  Next year, they will not be rookies.  Next year, we will have a LT and another WR threat.  Next year, we beat them. Next year, we beat a lot of people.

About a third of the players who contributed was composed of rookie players (Brown, Norwell, Glanton, Ealy, Boston, Benwikere, Turner).  Of those somel were undrafted (Brown, Norwell, Glanton).  We had some overachievers, bargain-basement free agents like Remmers, Love, Cole, and Horton.   These players were assembled out of necessity due to some terrible contracts, dead money, and a cap deficit over $16m just 2 years ago.

Then there were players on the roster whose talents were discovered.  Colin Jones, in my opinion, could be a pretty strong SS.  I think they should look at him there anyway.  Josh Norman stepped up and has become a strong CB.  All gained experience this year.

We get everyone we want to return back next year.  In fact, most of our contracts are set through 2016, with the exception of Cam.

So what are our needs?  LT, WR for sure.  DT, RB, CB, S depth.

Expect us to become elite in 2015.   These players are experienced now.  They are no longer rookies, bargain-basement free agent nomads, or bench warmers.

The future is bright.

The future is bright as long as we get rid of Shula, Rogers, and Dorsey.

Why Dorsey? I think Cam was 10x better in the pocket tonight than last week. Dorsey had a lot to do with getting Cam be a lot better...

The problem is it came against the number one defense in the NFL.

I said the same thing. This game was the best experience you can hope for young players to have. On the road, in the playoffs, against the defending world champions in the toughest place to play in the NFL. They likely won't face anything that tough again - unless we go back to Seattle in the playoffs.

I would keep the qb coach.    This week,  Cam was somewhat comfortable in the chaos..  He was avoiding 1 to 2 defenders flying at him,  stepping up into the pocket.    Going through his reads.

Just replace Shula and I would be happy.

Ramsdell > Dorsey

Idk what the fug is his role in this organization but he should be the QB coach. Next get an OC that he can be matched up

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
