Three first half things that hurt more than the Sherman interception

I was so pissed.

You go for it on 4th and 2 - get the first down - run a bad play - let 8 seconds (close to 25%) run off the clock.

Why go for it on 4th if you're not going to try and score? They still had two TOs.

Terrible

Not to mention the second half... When your team isn't running a hurry up offense with some hope left in winning the game. Then, you want to call timeouts on the other side of the ball to conserve time. Makes no sense.

Mike Tolberts drop was also a huge heartbreaking play.

just to clear a technicality...stewart fumbled once on the screen pass.

the second "stewart" fumble was officially charged to newton since he never gave stewart the ball.

from last night...

Official scoring on #Panthers last drive is a fumble by Cam Newton and not Jonathan Stewart. Stew never had the ball. #CARvsSEA

Shermans pick was essentially a punt. It didnt hurt us at all. And Bersin gave us all heart attacks but thats been the case all year

I think the Cotchery drop may have been more deflating then that pick. It was early in the game and a ball that had he caught he could've gone for ten more yards

The Sherman interception was a glorified punt.

Did I misrepresent something?

I said all three plays were way worse than the Dick pick...

Olsens drop also hurt.  It would have been a tough catch but it hit him in the hands and we've seen him make that catch before.  When you have the juxtaposition of our guys dropping easy passes hitting them in the hands that killed multiple drives with Seattles guys grabbing one handed bombs 40 yards downfield you don't have to wonder where our primary offensive shortcomings were.   Too bad all the morons will hang it all on Cam.

Maybe in terms of field position; but when you factor in momentum, crowd enthusiasm and the fact it is considered a turnover, you're missing half the point. Every head coach/talking head on TV even stated it was worse than a punt.

Sure, Dick Sherman's pick deflating, but these were way way worse, In descending order:

3. JStew fumble. This was coming, I could see it after the first screen play where the chopped away the juggling catch into out of bounds. It was at a time where we were eating up the clock, and making Wilson's lobbing, lucky ass on the pine. It hurt, badly. That could have been at least a field goal.

2. Cotchery dropping the easy pass on the 3rd down of the first series. The opening drive should set a stern tone for the game, and making mistakes against a team as lucky as the Seahawks never ends well. Yes they are a good team, but I swear to god lucky as hell. That catch could have at least set us up for helping out my number one thing that hurt the most.

1. Brenton Bersins unconfident fielding of punts. We were consistently starting from our own 11 yard line, with a strong worry that the ball would be fumbled that close to the endzone at any minute. This really hurt how well we could move down the field, and how well our offense could get started.

In my personal opinion, had all three of these things had never happened, the outcome of the game could have been completely different or at least much closer.

IIRC, all three of these things may have happened in the first quarter, let alone half.

JStew fumble was not his fault entirely if you go back and watch the play, you would blame Bell. Bell let his man run right pass him and hit JStew as he got the ball.
