We Desperately Need Another WR

Don't get me wrong, I love Bersin and Cotch but they just aren't built for big time games and don't have that spark that is needed to be a dominant WR in the NFL. Cotch is old and was probably good for leadership this season considering we wiped the slate clean in the WR department but he just isn't a fast and reliable performer anymore. I like Bersin and his story about becoming a Panther but he just can't compete with top NFL corners. He has great hands but cannot get separation at all and is slow off the line. I know our focus in the draft last year was WR  first (which caught a lot of people off guard) but I think we need to address it again this year. Maybe not go #1 with it but definitely try to bring in someone who can compliment KB because he is going to start getting double teamed more and more going forward.

To this day I still don't understand why Gettleman got rid of every WR we had last year. Can you imagine what we would be like having KB and either Smitty OR LaFell? Both of them had great years on their new teams and having at least one of them back would have helped out so much.

I am very optimistic about the future of this team. The defense doesn't need to be touched IMO. The secondary, while young, started to come on strong at the end of the season and will only get better over time. I think the Seattle game was much needed learning experience for them and was good for them to get that kind of game out of their system. Josh Norman is a freaking stud and could seriously be a top corner in the NFL within a few years.

I think we are a player or two from being a great team. Patch up the O-Line in the offseason and snag a good WR and possibly a RB and we can run the South again. Brees is nearing retirement and ATL is in re-building mode so I think the division is ours for the taking the next few years. KEEP POUNDING!

Look at the Colts with TY "Beanie Baby" Hilton and the Redskins with Desean Jackson. Also Brandin Cooks and OBJ, we need a sneaky fast guy that can consistently get behind the defense. I'm all for continuing to use Philly but we need another speed guy. If Hill can develop into that guy in the offseason and we can use a draft pick elsewhere I am all for it.

Saturday night proved we need more big play threats. We cannot consistently rely on the defense to dominate a game. (Not a slight to our defense but there will be games like we had Saturday night). Now if we add a big play dimension to the offense we could be looking at point differential similar to the Packers at home.

Hell, not just behind them... through them.  Philly helps, and I'm for keeping him as well, but he's not the outside guy we need to be looking at.  Need more size to go along with the speed.  Also, as I mentioned, we not only need them to get behind the defense, they need to be able to generate YAC.  Crossing routes, as just one example, with guys like you mentioned, have TD potential every time.  With the guys we have right now... not so much.

    • How in the world are folks not getting open because of Bryce when he was sacked for what was then the 2nd most times a rookie QB had been sacked (until Caleb Williams)? He got sacked 50+ times behind a 6th and 7th string guard duo. Dalton played one good game against the RAIDERS? The same Andy Dalton that people are ready to take out behind the barn and put down so that they can have a UDFA QB in the room that won't be on a roster next season? I get that Aidan O'Connell is some Huddlers' favorite QB, but Jesus... Again: What is the acceptable floor for a rookie QB with 6th & 7th string starting guards, a group of weapons where the only player getting open is 33yrs old, and the coaching staff switched the offense up three times in their first year? Why is it that I keep getting excuses instead of numbers in response to that?
    • Stanford probably should've won that game, all things considered. Not a great look for Reich.
    • Frank Reich had 3 timeouts and got the ball back with just over 2min left and the game tied at 20. On 2nd and 7, he calls back-to-back passing plays instead of a screen or a run to wind down the clock. They punted to Hawai'i who was sitting on two timeouts. Reich sat on all 3 timeouts once Hawai'i got into field goal range which allowed them to kill clock and kick the game winning FG. This was the offensive guru that switched the offense on a rookie QB twice. 🙃   I'm gonna need some of the "no excuses" crowd to keep that energy for themselves this season if Bryce keeps looking like he did post benching.
