Colin Cowherd actually praised Cam today

That might be the first time ever I've heard him say something nice about Cam without being condescending

He basically said that game was the most impressed he's ever been with Cam, continued with saying wow Cam arrived and how he's carrying the franchise cause they don't give him much to work with.

Must've not watched Cam much if he thinks that's his best game...

I thought Cam threw it accurately just made a ton of bad decisions, he got lucky he didn't get picked off 4 times. I guess those drop picks made up for the fumbles 3 Seattle recovered

There's a difference between having three turnovers at home to a lousy team and having three turnovers in the playoffs to a terrific D on the road. I thought Cam looked really good under the circumstances. He never imploded. You could very easily argue he was set up to fail with Bersin falling down as read 1 and Ed Dickson not going to the ball on read 2. Think of all the long down and distances he dealt with and converted a few of them. Had two terrific passes dropped for drive killers.

And most importantly the defense let him down by giving up points and field position. We needed the defense to carry us and they couldn't.

2015 is the year.

One thing (not to offend anyone) this board seems infatuated with is what the media thinks of the Panthers and Cam.  I don't really care.  Just look at preseason predictions they make in August--they do not know any more than anyone else.

They are not bound to a system of fairness or objectivity unless it hurts their ratings not to do so.  They sell advertisements, and if bashing the Panthers and Cam helps do that, then they do that.  Cam is not a very popular player around the league.  Beginning with the Auburn stuff to pointing after first downs and pretending to be Superman, he ruffles feathers.  If bashing Cam sells, expect it.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
