Dane Brugler mock draft with this nugget "The Giants have invested high draft picks on the offensive line in recent years and could go in that direction again if New York plans to make Will Beatty a June 1st cut."

I dont know much about the Giants cap situation, but Beatty is a solid LT.  He graded out positively by PFF, above guys like Brian Bulaga.  He fits the mold of the size we like and is 29, so should have a few solid years left

Presumably Gettleman is familiar with him.  Additionally, as a would be cut, he wouldnt count against our compensatory pick score.

In a light year for OTs in FA and the a low draft position, the more LTs available the better.

Anyone here knowledgeable about his chances of being cut?

FWIW he has graded positively by PFF 3 out of the last 4 years. This year, pretty much everyone else  on the Giants o-line was terrible, but he was ok and as good as any other FA options.

no matter if we sign FA OT, we still should draft one anyways.  But signing someone who we know isnt terrible is a good start.  Look at the PFF grades for all 1st round OT taken the past two years.  Its not pretty.....some of the worst grades in the league

Flowers is a guy I'm actually keeping an eye on. He's a very Kelvin Benjamin like prospect in that if he wouldve gone back to school I think he wouldve gone way up on draft boards and the year of refinement wouldve helped him.

I'm a little concerned he'll rise now actually.

I've seen a lot of Beatty. He's a middle of the road OT who can have a stretch of awful play but then be really good.

He was definitely helped out this year by McAdoo's offense, which was WCO based and had a lot of shorter routes/shorter protection time.

He's solid in both the run game and pas protection. He'd clearly be an upgrade over Bell.

I think Gettleman will definitely be interested in him if signed.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
