Let's talk about Fozzy...

Stout, fast and takes care of the ball. He's a north south runner with great balance and is aggressive on kickoff returns.

He was solid this season and I really like his cuts and the way he gets extra yards when he gets hit early.

There is no reason why he can't be our designated backup to Stewart. I'm a big fan and think he could be a factor when Stewart is on the sideline.

We don't need to draft another RB outside of UDFA with fozzy on the roster. I'm a big fan and think he is ready for Williams carries of DLo is a June 1st cut.

Hes a good stop gap for now. Long term, I feel like we pick up a RB either late in this year's draft or next year's and he'll become part of a RB rotation that we will be here to stay in Carolina.

I could see a relativly cheap yet effective stable of RBs in the future who all bring a little something unique to a rotation. just keep restocking this cheap rotation when one gets hurt/ gets old/ or gets too expensive.

He's developed into what Kenjon Barner was supposed to be. A third down back who can catch the ball out of the backfield and make something happen in the open field.

kB never had the build and toughness that Foz has. Fozzy is all about moving the ball forward regardless of the situation.

I honestly don't think I've seen Fozzy be tackled for a loss.

Like another poster said, Fozzy is a good change of pace back.  He provides solid depth, but will most likely always be a #2 or #3 back.  I just don't see him ever being a full-time starter.  With that being said, we will most definitely draft a runningback in this year's draft.  We would be stupid not to, considering how deep the RB's are this year.  If we can pick up an OT in the FA, then we might take a DE in the first, and since receivers are also deep this year, we could grab a RB in the 2nd ONLY if Gurley is still there.  If not, then I wouldn't mind taking Tevin Coleman in the 3rd or Mike Davis.  But Gurley is without a doubt the most NFL ready back.  When he's back to 100%, watch out.  I think it makes sense for us to take him, with Stew, Fozzy, and Reaves and maybe an UDFA RB on the depth chart, Gurley can take it slow and try and contribute later on in the season.

    • Apparently the extension he signed before the season was also a little weird, as it had a very low signing bonus. So the Jets have a very small dead cap hit despite trading a big contract that was signed just 2 months ago. I guess it was only a $13 million signing bonus, and trading him mid-season means it's something around only a $10 million dead cap hit left to take. This is a huge win for the Jets for a player I've long felt was overrated because of a great nickname and an amazing rookie season that he's then failed to fully live up to since them.  Combine that with everyone knowing the Colts seem more mirage then legit long term contender, that 2027 1st in particular could end up being a really good asset for the Jets.
    • Steichen has the offense operating at a super high efficiency with JT/Pittman/Warren/Downs.  The OL is strong. The D - the front 7 has been sneaky good.  They don't instill much fear but do enough.  Buckner is stil playing at a high level.  It's a good system on both sides of the ball.  Blue chip players now at every position group.   Overall, the NFL is wide open right now. Seahawks, Colts, Patriots, Rams, & Bills are at the top of the mid-season hill - which is just wild Lions, Bucs, Broncos, Chargers* are in contention/okay spots (LAC is losing guys left and right though) Chiefs, Philly still linger, you can never discount. Steelers, 49ers are around as always.
