Superbowl over hyped to the point of nauseum

Seriously, I don't believe there is any more or less Super Bowl hype than usual.  That being said, there seems to be more hate than usual.

To be honest, I am so focused on the Panthers, draft prospects and free agency that I don't even pay attention to all the hoopla. But, I will be front and center watching the Dance.

I think this is a lot of us.

there's just as much Super Bowl hype as ever.  I'm just not paying attention to it.

Back in 03-04 I was riveted from the moment the NFC Championship ended till the second the Super Bowl started.

Yeah, man. We've only gotten to experience that one time. Damn! Will be nice to actually feel it again...culminating in a win. I hope we get there before we take our last breath.

J-Rich must feel something similar. I would feel bad for the guy, but, in a way, it's hard to cry a river for a rich guy that seems more beholden to shareholders than fans. But, I am babbling...

Have never forgotten that feeling, and I'm just a fan.

Imagine what it's like for the guys who play the game.

This super bowl has Katy Perry in it. Nothing about it can be overrated.

I'm not a big fan of generic pop songs you could write with a book of Mad Libs.

If she wasn't nice to look at, I don't know that she'd have a career as a 'music artist'.

(go ahead and call me a grumpy old man if you wanna)

I'm honestly looking forward to seeing her at halftime. Better than looking at crypt keepers like the Rolling Stones out there.

Plus Lenny Kravitz is performing with her.....should be a good performance.

On a side note - I've found it funny that the more people watch the halftime show than the actual game itself and the ratings go up during that time.

People aren't home Saturday, they're out because they don't have work and can stay out. They're almost always home Sunday nights, because of work the next morning.

And not everyone gets off weekends and unless you work in restaurants, Sundays are the slowest business day so you'll be off or have a short day/ close early. Any buisness hours you look up are open later Saturday and close early Sunday. Same idea.

Ever notice how Saturday TV is God awful? This is why.

They easily have more viewers Sunday night.

Please tell me one single soccer match that generates the kind of press, money, and interest that the Super Bowl does.

The Super Bowl will be lucky to reach 10% of the viewership the World Cup Final garnered. But hey, don't let facts get in the way. Ignorance is bliss.

Soccer & Formula 1 shít all over American Football when speaking globally. I hate to have to break this to you, but outside of the U.S. nobody gives two shíts about the NFL.

Does anybody think there is a more douchebag thing to post than comments like these? I see them all the time and I can't help but think how stupid the person is who writes it. It's the new "nanny-nanny-boo-boo"

A couple of things....

*I'm an American talking about sports and events that are relevant to us in America. The WC final doesn't touch the SB here.

*I also originally said the SB is the greatest "show" in sports. Formula 1 and the WC aren't a show nor do they have anywhere near the hype and production that the SB does in America.

*If you're so into Formula 1, WC, and Cricket....why have you not started threads in any of those sections of the Huddle. Is there even a such thing

*If you want to start a "biggest dick" argument please refer to any of the Russell Wilson threads.

Then maybe you should've originally stated "in America" instead of "in the world" as you did.

    • Evero to the Raiders makes zero sense unless the OC he's pitching them is a failed HC who doesn't have interest in trying for it again. They're a team about to draft a QB #1 overall, developing him is job #1 for the new coach/staff.  Hiring a DC with a young up and coming OC wouldn't make any sense, because then you risk losing that OC to a HC job after maybe just a year or two and that young QB has to change system, play caller, etc. It's why hiring an offensive minded coach makes the only sense.  The Raiders have to make the right hire/pick with this HC hire and #1 pick combo because of that division they're in, it's a gauntlet and you can't screw up this opportunity.
    • 1. Sadly, it's just too early to tell with Icky. And the draft will have come and gone before we have anything, FA, too probably. Njiman was good, but there's dollars to be invested there as well. This is really our biggest puzzle to figure out. And Moton on the other flank is getting long in the tooth, too.  2. Coker: Pay the man WR2 money.  3. Most WRs take three years before you really know what you've got. We'll know for sure by the end of this one and he's still on a relatively inexpensive rookie contract. Now if someone comes calling for a good, good trade... 4. This is the make or break for good teams vs bad teams. And depth development is essential. We've had a bit of that but there isn't a spot on our line that doesn't have worries except for maybe on guard.  5. I think you draft the best ILB, the smartest one in the first round and don't look back. People lost their poo here on this board when we "wasted" a pick on Luke Kuechly.  6. Yeah, I think Chuba is a workhorse. But we need to be more decisive in his use. Still not sure Rico doesn't come back next season, too. He'll get to see the marketplace first, though, and we'll offer similar numbers to him.
    • I've grown to enjoy Mike & Tripp, even more so after listening to the ESPN, TNT, TBS hacks who, for whatever reason, seemingly don't know dick about the Canes.
