For those interested in Torrey Smith, I can give you these bits and pieces--

 

He was offered a 5-year, $35m contract at the beginning of the season and did not take it---Then, he had a down year, FWIW.

He said he wants to return to Baltimore, but there is some sense he is going to test the waters to gauge his worth.

 

I think $7m per season is probably where he will be--more than that is a #1.  (Coincidentally, it is where another WR names Smith was).

 

I'd love to have Torrey Smith, but not for that contract.  NOPE.

Not as a returner, or 4th option.  I'd be willing to bet you are a UNC hater. With that being said, if Brandon Tate is the type of "high end" FAs that this team is gonna target I'm not gonna be happy.

No he won't. You get what you pay for. He's worth what he will get. Gettleman better grow the balls and give Cam Cobb or Torrey.

I don't think balls are the issue! I'm pretty sure, it's what's left in the money account. Can't give something that you don't have the means to buy

If by some outside chance we were able to sign Randell away from Green Bay and he turned out not producing the way we expected,i would feel like we got "Cobbed" on the deal.

What?  The Pats drafted him and he played with them for two years and he's been with the Bengals for the last four seasons.

 

He'd be brought in as a return man first and foremost.  He'd a very solid return man.  I wouldn't want him any higher than 4th on the WR depth chart though.  At least he'd bring some much needed speed to the unit.
