Statement from the Panthers

What's unfair about this is my team had a great player. Great player also is slightly more stable than a nuclear reactor core in full meltdown, but between the lines is a beat. Wild accusations were thrown, player arrested. That should have been the end of it but nooooooo.

Later a player of another team knocks his then fiancée out cold in an elevator. Goodell collasselly fugs the pooch and gives the guy a weak punishment. World loses collective mind and goes bat poo crazy. NFL then goes all reactionary and has to "prove" that they give an actual poo about anything but money and crucify the first people they can in order to save face.

Now back to our great player.

Great player now knows poo got serious but has no idea, Goodell invents double secret probation list and sends great player away for the entire year. Justice system is so back logged it can't even hear the case for over 8 months. Case finally heard and is promptly dismissed.

Now what do the fans get?

Nothing. A useless jersey hanging in the closet as a retarded reminder of how fuged up big business is.

Talk about women's issues and domestic violence all you want but bottom line is this is all about money and public relations. Panthers fans got poo on by hardy, by holder, by goodell, by the team. Everyone.

We got the poo end of the stick. Period.

It's unfair to him because it will have impacted his future earning potential. He was deactivated for an offense he didn't commit. Whether he paid this girl off or not is inconsequential. I imagine if he did pay her off, it's because it was cheaper and faster than paying the lawyers to win the ridiculous case against him. It's not exactly the Ben Roethlisburger situation where everyone pretty much knows he did it and paid the accuser off to avoid a conviction. I hope the NFL does investigate it thoroughly and comes to the obvious determination that Hardy didn't commit any wrongdoing and therefore does not need to be FURTHER (yes further) punished.

But he has his budding rap career to fall back on. Plus, 13 mil should set him up nicely for the rest of his life.

Hypothetical:

An elementary school teacher gets arrested for sexually abusing a neighbors child.  Between the time of his/her arrest, the teacher's spouse buys a lottery ticket with the winning numbers and the couple become millionaires.

The parents of that child come to a monetary settlement with the elementary school teacher, move from the area, and can no longer be easily found.  The criminal charges are dropped.

The school system fires the teacher.

Is this discrimination/

Sure it would be discrimination, the school teacher was not found guilty of the charges. Just because someone is accused of something, they are not considered  guilty until they are legally tryed and found guilty by a court of law.

A suspension still likely in Hardy's future once the NFL finds out about the terms of the settlement, imo.

Moral of the story: when being accused by a female of doing something bad, even if there is no evidence, you are guilty until proven innocent and it is morally imperative to destroy your career and punish you not only during the trial, but after the courts dismiss the claim.
