Fox's Bears switching to 3-4 defense

Hey people change. Fox also might just want to collect a check at this point in his life and let his OC and DC do there jobs.

I will promise this though Bear fans. The man will do his damn best to clap and chew bubble gum from the start of the game to its end.

Fox is 60 and had heart surgery a few years ago.  He's probably nothing more than an overseer right now.  Less stress.

You don't know Fox and his personality....he is not an "overseer" and is not looking for lower stress.

Guy is as intense a competitor as they come.

It is ridicoulous to imply that the 3-4 is some kind of mystery to John Fox but he did seem to favor the 4-3. How long has he been around football? I know his conservative nature drove the fans crazy but it is funny how little credit he recieves. He did some good things while he was here and was dealt a crappy hand in 2010.

If you hire a guy to focus solely on the defense, then why the hell would you bring in Fox to begin with?

There has got to be cheaper options out there to run the most vanilla offense in the world.

Fox's offenses (Manning doesn't count) make Shula look like a risk taking prodigy.

This is interesting.

I don't have a link, but I remember reading a few years ago that the Bears were the only team in the NFL to have never ran a 3-4.

That was in 2010, I remember it because I was in a house I lived in when my son was born when I read it.

That matches up with my sense of it.
