Panthers interested in bringing back Ted Ginn

Theres a chance Gettleman told him straight up that there are no gaurentees for him this season, as the plan may be to get younger and faster through the draft and other FAs.

Might be a situation where he would need us more than we need him. (After the draft and FA of course, when we have the final 53. Obviously we have holes but we miggt not in a few months)

Cam Newton threw a very badly timed pick six in a playoff game. By your standard, he should be gone.

He had five touchdowns as a receiver here, more than he's had anywhere else. He also helped us get 24 first downs and was responsible for more than one big play that was crucial to us winning games.

More to the point, he consistently put us in better field position on punt and kick returns.

And I agree that thinking has very little to do with what you post.

Your facts will not stand here, sir!

That's my prediction. They will also offer more money. Ultimately, it's going to be an easy decision for Ginn.

Removing money from the equation since it's no guarantee that Cleveland would pay significantly more, why would he get cut in August? G-man says you use free agency to set up the draft, and securing a strong returner matches with the 'ace' philosophy and lets them look for a pure WR (or RB, DB, etc.) without worrying about returns. Plus he knows the offense and has been a productive receiver, a good complement to his return skills. If anything, his presence would make other receivers expendable.

I remember a play when our season was on the line. 4th and 19, and Teddy snags a deep cross for 25.

He will never be confused with an elite WR. But his year here proved he could be productive as a WR. Throw in his return ability. And he is someone that can help us win games.

I thought that was what we were going for? That winning games thing.

Agreed. He was big in the Pats game as well. He has big play ability. We need him or someone similar.

    • Over previous years? Sure is 😆
    • An odd little vibe I've noticed here of late: some folks are "all or nothing" to an absolutely extreme level when it comes to Bryce. Here's a bit of truth telling though: There are, in fact, things Bryce does well. Likewise, there are areas in which he's improved over his time here. He has, on several occasions now, legitimately helped us win games. On the flipside, there have been failures in other areas as well as coaching that we're not in any way his fault.  And finally , it is also genuinely possible that the team may see him as the future, even if we don't. The craziest part, though? It's actually possible that they're right and we're wrong. All of this is true, and more, yet if you accept any of these premises people go from zero to apesh-t in under three seconds 😳 Anything less than total disavowal of Bryce and / or agreement that he's the worst QB of all time and suddenly you're a "stan". Oy 🙄 The reality though?  Bryce is indeed an NFL quarterback. Not a great one, probably backup level good, and I've seen way worse. Now, if you run that statement through your personal Google translator and it comes back with some version of "I want to throw 50 million a year at Bryce for the next 10 years", that's not really my issue it's yours  I don't wanna make him the franchise quarterback, but it's not my call. Win or lose, the team is going to do what they think is best. And as always, if it disagrees with what I think we should do, I'm gonna hope I'm the one who's wrong. Internet clout means nothing. Watching my favorite team win at my favorite sport meas fun 😁
