49ers Place Kapernick On Trade Block

Tannehill is a straw man he's used before.

His theory was that fanbases would go easier on a white quarterback than on a black one.  He used Tannehill vs Newton as an example of it.  Even tried linking to an obscure Dolphins message board to try and prove it.

That's one of the ways I knew what he had in mind.

mr. scot keeps bringing up the race card when he can't think of an actual response

I tried to get this thread back on track...to no avail.

Actually was planning to comment on that.

It's possible this was a genuine story (still don't buy it) but the whole "now they won't because they got caught" is a pretty classic CYA dodge.

True, but it's not like the 49ers haven't lied before, or at least didn't tell the complete truth.

WTF? Didn't they just give him a huge contract?

Colin Kaepernick signed a 6 year / $114,000,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $12,328,766 signing bonus, $61,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $19,000,000. However, it is actually more like 6 1 yr contracts. The money is guaranteed if he is on the roster at a certain date, so that 61M number is misleading.

1. When luck is mentioned, it's very much often mentioned that he's overated, with a few people defending him. Much like a lot of people do with Russel Wilson.

2. Suh is dirty POS who isvery immature. It has nothing to do with race.

3. ...What does that have to do with anything? Do you see theh ate the Falcons fans dush out on Mat tRyan after a loss? Because its just as bad as Cam. There's more expected of Cam and Matt Ryan than Tannehill because hes never been great. That's why.

4. Don't even pretend you didn't ring this up about race, then backpedal. Why else would you bring this up.

There's so many other cases of racial double standards that you could've brought up. Like how it was okay when Johnny Football partied, but now it's wrong that Jameis Winstion is immature. Everyone talked about how he was a cant miss product and his immature days were behind him, but Winstion is going to blow up any franchis he goes too.

But you reach for this poo...over Colin Kapernick? Really? Dude

1. I would suggest the same to you; spend a little more time around the Huddle; if you think on Wilson's best day, he is as beloved on the Huddle as on Luck's worst day you are smoking crack. (And this is strictly on the Huddle; it's somewhat an even worse disparity outside of the Huddle.)

2. Not sure why you are mentioning Suh; One only needs to visit the Suh thread (Dolphins related) to somewhat ascertain how the Huddle feels about Tannehill.

3.  You're not following, here, let me try to simplify it: Tannehill (if you want to throw in Matt Ryan too, fine, but there is a reason I choose Tannehill and not Matt Ryan), gets less criticism from the Dolphins fan base (I would know as Miami is my second favorite team) when he LOSES than Newton gets from the Panther fan base when he WINS.

Don't believe me? Check out the reaction of the Huddle after Newton threw a game winning TD to send the Panthers to the playoffs in week 16, 2013 against the Saints to the reaction that the Dolphins gave to Tannehill the SAME week that he failed to score a single point against the Bills for a chance to go to the playoffs; Very similar situations; There was somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 THREADS on the front page of the Huddle alone a day after critical of Newton as a QB going forward while the exact same time the you had to dig through a SINGLE thread on the second page (could have been third) on the Dolphins board before you even found a single POST criticizing Tannehill's performance.

And to your second point, LOL. Of course those who don't like Newton would move the goal post and pass it off as "I just expect more from Newton." No they don't. If they did there would not have been so many objection threads to Newton when he arrived. You don't think the "world" of someone and then create thread after thread about how much of a bust he is going to be.

And again, you really need to pay attention. There are regular posters who don't even think Newton is deserving of franchise QB money. And like I said, that is just the Huddle, may I suggest you visit an Observer article concerning Newton?

4. Again, who is bringing up any racial component? I said the Huddle appears to be "bitter".

This is a thread about Colin Kaepernick. I mentioned Wilson because that is ANOTHER QB this forums loves to bash DESPITE the fact that BOTH Wilson and Kaepernick are the last two QBs that beat this very team in the playoffs.

Luck and Tannehill was brought up because Luck and Tannehill, along with Kaepernick and Wilson, are in the same boat as far as where they are at in their playing careers and are all somewhat thought of as franchise QBs deserving of a second contract. HOWEVER, only Luck and Tannehill are mentioned in that group as being capable of throwing a forward pass by the Huddle. I have heard more positive reviews concerning Sam Bradford than I have heard either about Wilson or Kaepernick on the Huddle...

That is why I said, the Huddle is "bitter." Still not seeing how this is me bringing up race or even alluding to it?

To be fair, that could be said of every team.

I definitely do see the Niners as kind of a dysfunctional organization though.  It seems pretty clear that some of the decisions they've made this offseason (like essentially getting rid of anything Jim Harbaugh might have touched) were made out of ego more than logic.

All that said, I still don't buy this story.

But I'm willing to acknowledge that it's at least possible.

i reread everything he posted and i have no idea where you're getting race-baiting from. it sounds like you just want to go all HAM and make points against straw men, ironically

I have no idea where they are getting race baiting from. I specifically mentions that Colin and Russell are the last two QBs that beat the Panthers in the playoffs and I then infer that this may be the source of the Huddle's bitterness towards them...

I never made a reference to Wilson or Colin's race.

The reason why I brought up Luck and Tannehill is because they are QBs that in the same position as Wilson and Colin, relatively, and the Huddle (especially Luck) holds those two in high regard. Maybe it is because Luck and Tannehill have not beaten in the Panthers in the Playoffs...The reason why I did not bring up RGIII is because the Huddle DOESN'T have a high opinion of him;

HOWEVER, I also never mentioned Andy Dalton, because....

Wait for it...wait for it....

The Huddle doesn't have a high opinion of him either...I supposed I didn't mention Dalton because he is black too...

But 9 million of that signing bonus would count against them right now wouldn't it?

Each year of the contract, the 49ers can decide to cut Kaepernick before April 1 and will not owe him any more money. Yes, they signing bonus would accelerate, but not the "guarantees". Guaranteed money is only against injury.
