NFL Free Agency Update Thread

Eagles have been trying to trade Evan Mathis and could release him if no deal is found.

Mathis is gone from here at least in part due to the fact that he and the OL coach we had when he was drafted really didn't get along.

Now? Good as he is, we don't really need a guard. And he'll probably command more money than we have to spare anyway.

Michael Crabtree Willing To Wait For Right Opportunity, 49ers Still Interested

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports that free agent WR Michael Crabtree is willing to wait as long it takes to find the right situation for him.

According to Maiocco, the 49ers remain interested in re-signing Crabtree, but he reportedly prefers to play for a team that places a greater emphasis on the passing game.

Maiocco mentions that if Crabtree were to return to San Francisco next year, he likely wouldn’t be an every-down receiver now that they’ve brought in Torrey Smith.

As of now, Crabtree has taken just one visit to Miami to meet with the Dolphins. Beyond that, there has been very little buzz surround the former first-round pick.

Crabtree, 27, appeared in all 16 games and caught 68 passes for 698 yards receiving and four touchdowns last year. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 95 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.

We have Crabtree listed as the No. 34 player in our Top 1oo Free Agents list.

now the Matthews brothers are both in the NFC North, as the Vikings (who lost MLB Jasper Brinkley to Dallas) have signed Casey Matthews

NBC Pro Football Talk:

"Casey Matthews, 26, started 11-of-16 games at inside linebacker for Philadelphia in 2014, notching 53 tackles and 1.5 sacks. His starts came in place of the injured Mychal Kendricks (three) and DeMeco Ryans (eight)."

@Rapsheet

#Nebraska pass-rusher Randy Gregory, who impressed during his private workout today, visited the #Panthers last week. Unlikely he gets to 25

No thanks. He's a year away from even stepping on the field outside of 3rd and long situations only.
