Rumor: Panthers, Titans, and Eagles Contact Michael Crabtree

we need a borderline 1/2. not sure what value Crabtree has here Unless we are releasing Corchery, Bersin and Brown...which I could actually see happening.

how many mediocre WR's does it take to make one versatile #2 receiver?

Crabtree would still be a #3 (his optimal value,) slightly ahead of Ginn. I'd rather have Nicks, keep Philly and draft a young'n for 4-WR sets. We'd still need a solid #2.

crabtree is actually extremely underrated ... yeah if you judge him on his career numbers you won't be that impressed, but given he's played in kaeperdicks one read offense, he's played pretty incredible when his number has been called, and unfortunately, that was only in 2012.

2012: Crabtree 85 rec, 1105 yards and 9 TD's

2013: V. Davis: 52 rec, 850 yards, and 13 TD's

2014: A. Boldin 83 rec, 1,062 yards and 5 TD's

Kaeperdick picks one receiver at the beginning of each year and that's the guy he'll throw to 80% of the time.

Give the guy a chance. He has some of the surest hands in the league and I think a change of scenery and a competent QB will bring out the best in Crabtree. Bring him in GMAN!

Lemme have you put it into something lots of Panther fans can relate to.

Compare and contrast Michael Crabtree with Muhsin Muhammad.

Similarities, differences, better at this, worse at that, etc.

You want this thread to die...... Yet you continue to view it and comment on it.

Makes sense.

Because it's not going to die on it's own, someone has to murder it.

A few of us are trying because we know Bob's track record.

By the way, this isn't a shot at you. I understand you want to get views on your thread, I just don't think posting info from people who are notoriously known as liars is a good way to do so. It gets everyone's hopes up for absolutely nothing.

Now if this info turns out to be true I'll be happy to come back here and apologize.

I don't really give a fug about the views on thread to be honest. Slow news day, I saw something Panthers related (by a bad source or not). But there was also something on C S R that a guy that works with a relative of Crabtree said we offered him a contract (and this was before Bob tweeted this). I think it's BS as well but if there's a possibility of it happening I figured I'd post it here to talk about him potentially being a Panther.

Just like supposedly Smitty just deleted this tweet off of his twitter (yes I'm pretty sure this is fake)

People have got to drop this "we need speeeeed!!" shtick. We don't need speed. What we need is talent. Something Moore lacks and Crabtree has.

Not that it matters either way because this is an Incarcerated Bob tweet so it's likely crap.

I totally agree with you but when you hear it from Gettleman you'll hear it from the masses. What I'm not sure of is whether or not it's a smokescreen or Gettleman is turning into Al Davis.

    • He can be our post injury Delhomme in 2008. I am fine with Hubbard and Dowdle being our Willliams and Stewart.    Canales has some eating to do and hair to grow if he’s going to be Jeff Davidson tho.
    • This season was about continuing to dig ourselves out of the crater Fitterer (and by extension Young with the three first round picks we traded for him) buried us in. Tepper is determined to make Bryce happen, so we're forced to play him at QB and adjust around his obvious inadequacies.
    • Has nothing to do with the yards per carry, like at all. It's that 17 of his 25 passes were less than 10 yards downfield, against the worst pass defense in the league.  It's another game where Bryce's passing attempts were mostly dink and dunk type of passes. I wasn't asking us to throw it more yesterday, hell, if anything, you could make an argument that with how we were running it, we should have thrown it less than 25 times anyways.  It's that we still threw it 25 times but only had 8 of them where the ball was thrown 10+ yards downfield. Our schedule takes a dramatic shift after this week, even next week against the Jets, they have a decent defense for a team that hasn't won a game yet.  This was a great opportunity to allow Bryce to throw the ball downfield more against the worst pass defense in the league, hence I'd just have liked to see more than 8 of 25 passes be thrown further than 10 yards downfield. IF we were going to throw it 25 times against Dallas, I'd have liked to see a good 12-15 of them be further than 10 yards downfield, let Bryce work on his weakness against the worst pass defense in the league, not throw more dink and dunk passes per usual.
