Carolina Panthers Trade Up Select Oklahoma's Daryl Williams

Panthers select a possible day 1 starter at right tackle, was projected as a third rounder. Excellent move by Dave Gettleman.

Like Trai Turner from last year's draft, Williams is a "road grader" who should aid in the run game. The prospect of Williams and Turner playing next to each other is a very exciting prospect for Panthers fans who love smash mouth football.

methodology:

"This website is devoted to charting NFL Draft offensive lineman prospects collegiate games...looking at whether they win or if they lose the snap. There is no emphasis on how they get the job done, as long as they do get it done. A player could have terrible form but seal the block, and that will count as a win. Likewise, a player could have perfect form and allow a sack, qualifying as a loss. A play will be counted as neutral if the player’s block had no impact on the outcome of the play i.e. quick screen."

This is Dave Gettleman saying fug this draft...this draft is weak so he's going quality over quantity...and the way the picks are going....we wouldn't have gotten who I wanted anyway so it's whatever...even in the 4th doods are coming off the board that would have still been here in the 6th if it's last years draft....

Seriously Crowder is great and I love/wanted him...but in the 4th? This draft is weaker than I thought.
