Tolberts replacement. Looks to be a redzone/goal-to-go type of back.

He's got a strong build for sure. I dont know how much more muscle/build he could put on before getting clunky and ober-beefed.

But yeah, could see him as a Toldozer replacement. Mike's days here are coming to a close. Tolbert just costs too much cash for his production.

Didnt see any plays where he caught the ball out of the backfield, so cant comment on that. It willl be interesting to see what hes capable of.

Tolbert missed a considerable amount of time last year and is not getting older. Not saying CAP will be the same as Tolbert physically but will more than likely replace him as far as his role on this team. Wouldn't surprise me if Tolbert is not on this team come Aug.

yup

if thats the case, he is what he is. Cant see him maturing, body-wise, much more without sacrificing speed and agility.

Probably have a short tenure in the NFL, but we could get good production from the get-go because of his maturity.

might be Tolberts last year as a Panther.

He gets paid, you don't. Suck it!

Seriously though... Just imagine if we wouldn't have left Gaffney up for grabs last season, lol.

Good thing we addressed the speed issue at WR too... Signed Ginn, went to sleep.

Holy poo, you might wanna shove a tampon in it before you pass out.

Well if he's not getting older, no problem.

This guy is more Whitaker's size at 212. I don't see him taking Tolbert's carries.

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
