nfl.com Draft winners and losers

You have to take the writers into account. One guy doesn't speak for a whole company in the case for the NFL(N or .com), b/r, CBS or any of them.

To me, Conor Orr doesn't know what the hell he is talking about half the time. Even here, he's really not saying anything, but something akin to "Awww, shucks! I guess Dave knows what he is doing, and he drafted one of my favorite receivers."

See, I think he didn't.

His response was that while Thompson is a great athlete, he doesn't know if he'll be a safety or a linebacker.

I'll grant you could be right about his intent, but I'd consider it poorly worded if that's what he wanted to say.

The fact that he graded our draft a "winner" made his intent pretty clear.

There's no such animal as a "winner" draft that comes with a questionable 1st round choice IMO.

Definitely disagree.

It doesn't make much sense for him to mean it that way in the context of being labeled a draft "winner"

So...what's being said is; Shaq is a terrible pick, because no one but Gman and RR know what they plan on doing with him? So I guess we need to hope that Gman and RR actually have a plan for Shaq.

And here I thought it was a crappy pick just because the kid won't be on the field enough to warrant a 1st round pick.

Shaq, Funchess, no 3rd. Ouch.

My skepticism regarding the Shaq pick melted away when we acquired Funchess.  I believe that we would have been forced to trade up either way.  I don't mind the third being that Gettleman obviously felt strongly about both picks (whom he had given first round grades).

Same here.

Once the Panthers drafted Funchess, then the Tackle after. I really didn't mind the Shaq pick anymore.

I thought the offense should be address, and it was (according to what they saw left on the board and believed).

I'm sure Shaq can be a hell of a player at both LB and in coverage (as a sort of roaming safety in the nickel package). And the other two picks makes that notion or palatable, especially if they all pan out/show promise.
