Are there huddlers hoping for a Panthers failure?

I'll be honest. I absolutely despise the draft we just had. I really don't like any of the picks we made outside of Williams, but even that one I don't like because we gave up picks to get him after we had already given up so much to get Funchess. I think only drafting 5 players was a huge mistake even though only 6-7 rookies figure to make the team. You're guaranteed to miss on at least a couple so I believe you draft as many as possible to maximize your chances of hitting on enough. I loved both of Gettleman's last two drafts but I can't talk myself into this one.

However, I would so much rather be proven to be an absolute incompetent moron than to have the team fail and me be right. My desire to be right about something will never beat out my desire to win. I'll eventually talk myself into Shaq and Devin, but I do have strong opinions on what we should have done instead. I won't care if someone bumps the threads I openly campaigned against both of them prior to the draft when they become studs.

And don't even open the Yahoo! comments. They will ruin your day no matter what the article was.

I don't think Huddlers want the team to fail or lose games. They simply want validation of their thoughts as everyone does. And that's ok.

Yes. Yes there are. :D

Pie'd for throwing out the internet-message-board-equivalent to being in the back of a Panthers bar dressed in all New Orleans gear on a Sunday and yelling "Hey! Can we switch the sound to the Saints game?!"

This thread is ridiculous. No one wants the Panthers to fail. Even the most harshest of fans.

Id like nothing more than Shula to pull his head out his ass and become a top 5 dominant offensive playcaller.

Id like nothing more than Oher to somehow get back to being or become an elite LT.

id like nothing more than Cam to finally take that next step in his development and become a more consistent top 5 QB.

    • I get what you are saying. I'm just saying we made it to the win, we should have a bit of class and not dogpile on the QB because his stat line wasn't great. His stat lines weren't great for almost his entire pro career, but this time, we got a win. Give him a breather.  The team cleared the bar. In the end, that's all that matters. Do it enough times and well, good things happen.  We've shat the bed enough times with good-ish QB play. It's not like we've been regularly to the playoffs even with our best performing QBs over the years. Heck, Matt Stafford was a helluva QB in Detroit for a long time with nothing to show for it. Steve Bartowski was a great QB back in the day, but in 20 years of watching I saw one playoff game for the Falcons. Heck, even Dan Marino spent most of his illustrious career on a lousy Dolphins team.  And yet, Tampa's first Superbowl ring was with the esteemed Trent Dilfer at the helm. Sometimes it goes like that.
    • I don't care what they tell me. Its what they actually do that matters. Coaches and GM's say crap all the time to keep fan interest. They are always trying to sell you something.
    • But you have to separate the 2 things in order to move forward.  Its okay to enjoy winning and its also okay to be critical of what is happening.  Coaches do it why cant we?   Also they have to be thinking next off season, next year all in real time.  They are applying what is working, where help is needed and how to get better and make plans for that.   I am weirdly confident that Dan and Dave are seeing what we are seeing and will adjust.   The wildcard however are the teppers
