Charles Johnson makes PFF Top 100 of 2014 list

86. Charles Johnson, DE, Carolina Panthers (Unranked)

Johnson is back on this list after missing it in 2013. He had to up his game with Greg Hardy suspended and so he did with the fourth-highest pass-rushing grade of all 4-3 defensive ends. The interesting thing about Johnson is how good he was in the second half of the year. He had 26 QB disruptions in the first half of the season and 37 in the second half, with his latter performances resembling his best.

Best Performance: Week 15, TB @ CAR, +6.4

Key Stat: His 72 quarterback disruptions were the most of any 4-3 defensive end.

Finally, I was avoiding that countdown because I didn't think hardly any panthers would make it other than luke and cam

Olsen is #62

62. Greg Olsen, TE, Carolina Panthers (Unranked)

He’s not a guy who puts up the stats to wow you on a weekly basis, but his numbers on the year and sheer consistency make him invaluable to the Panthers. A chain-mover who makes life easier for his quarterback, he’s also a good enough blocker that he aids in that element of the game. Finished the year with the second-highest grade catching the ball of all tight ends.

Best Performance: Week 7, CAR @ GB, +3.0

Key Stat: His 1.88 yards per route run was second most of all tight ends.

Yea he did great if we cut the season in half.

CJ needs to step it up big time, he is being paid ridiculous money. He shouldn't need Hardy on the opposite end.

Just like CJ didn't have Hardy in 2010, 2011 (Hardy only had 4 sacks that year), or last year?

Exactly. I was referring to last year, but previous years show what he is capable of, and why he is paid so much.

I understand he was hurt, but even he stated he needed to step it up during the season.

Can't invest 20 million in a DE and have him only preform with another elite DE and/or only half the year. That's game changing play pay.

I'd like to see him blow up 2015 like in years past.

He had the most QB disruptions of ANY 4-3 end and he did it WHILE HURT. What more do you want?

He had 26 disruptions in the first half of the season and 37 disruptions in the second half of the season yet somehow had 72 disruptions on the year? You sure about that PFF? Counting the two playoff games?

    • For the money... CURTIS Samuel > DEEBO Samuel!
    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
