Cams injury riddled season.

While perusing the internet for Panthers/NFC south info. (hey, it a long offseason, and im board. ) The majority of the fans and pundits look at our 7-8-1 record, as being somewhat indicitive of our future success.

Many assert that our lack of movement in FA and not drafting for need, that nothing should change that much from last years team performance wise.

I realize that its all just blind conjecture and peoples opinion. Thats not what's aggravating about it.

Very FEW ever mention our qb played most of the entire season with a gimpy ankle, cracked ribs and a broken vertebra.

How fun is it going to be when the narrative that many advance about the Panthers potential this season, is shattered and they are left trying to explain how Carolina walked away with their 3rd straight NFCS championship, and maybe more? Is it September yet?

Bad ass post, but i have to ask....did you use a thesaurus on this one? No idea what half those words meant.

Or i have had too many.

lol. My wife has said the same thing. She said the reason she can't ever win any arguments with me, is that I use too many big words. I said what, words like the, but, and or it? In retrospect my attempt at humor was a big mistake.

I honestly use to think that spprts writers were just to lazy to actually do research. However, I am beginning to think that they just genuinely hate us. Which Is fine, it doesn't make me mad.

I just believe this because they seem to know absolutely NOTHING about the Panthers or their players. I don't think it's laziness, they have all the info in the world about other teams. They just seem disinterested. I'm not sure if it is because we are a small market team or what.

They are blind to a healthy Cam, an almost complete roster switch up on defense last year that was a major factor in us getting it together, two 1,000 yard receivers (rookie and a TE), return of Ginn (Returner and field stretcher on O), sensational defense before adding a vet known for making turnovers, and a rookie that fit the scheme, difference when Stewie is our lead back, revamped STs squad that was well below average, and a Jimmy Graham-like versatile receiver (which moves Cotch to a more appropriate role where he could flourish), and Brown also in a role more suited for him.......I could really go on.....

Of course they hate us.  When we drafted Cam, they couldn't care less because they thought he would be a bust.  After doing freakish things on a GOAT trajectory, instead of accepting/embracing the inevitable, it's head in the sand time for the masses.  Denial-not just a river in Egypt.

Good post. I cannot think of another player in my time watching the NFL, that so many in the media, seem to actively root against. Is validating their pre draft critique of Cam so important, that many are willing to compromise their journalistic integrity to continue this false narrative?

If Cam is fully healthy this year and his revamped line can protect him, it's going to be hilarious hearing all the pundits say he has finally "matured" and "learned the game" when he is shredding defenses.

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
