“The amount of obstacles that Cam had to overcome last year and the way he finished the season, not only physically but more importantly mentally, was key for me,” Gettleman said in a statement. “It made me very comfortable doing this deal. From a physical standpoint, he’s got everything you’re looking for. He’s strong, he’s fast, he’s got the arm to make all the throws and he’s got a natural feel in the pocket that you really can’t coach. He’s progressed very well as an NFL quarterback and we feel he is still ascending and has a big ceiling yet to reach.”

Insert Gettleman trying to sabotage Cam nonsense here....

Pffft, he is only extending him because he knows Cam would throw for a million yards anywhere else so he wants to sabotage him by keeping him in Carolina where he can further sabotage him.

It makes sense if you don't think about it

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
