One of the greatest Smitty moments..

I know he is no longer on the team, and some of you hate him (which is sad, really).

But Smitty is forever a Panther and I absolutely HAVE to share this with you. Some of you may have seen it or caught it, but if you haven't it is definitely good entertainment. You know things were bad when a 9 yard gain got him that fired up. Uploaded it to my FB page, because the NFL isn't as strict as it is with Youtube. So feel free to give it a like if you want, if not that's cool too.

Edit: Not sure how to attach a Facebook vid...tried everything I know. You'll have to follow the link for now.

Steve Smith and Jimmy Clausen had no rhythm at all that year, which is kind of ridiculous when you consider Steve played with quarterbacks like Chris Weinke, Rodney Peete, Vinny Testaverte, David Carr, and Randi Fasani. But if you actually look at the games where Clausen played predominantly as opposed to Matt Moore, you find this

*Moore (4 games) - 21 catches (5 per game), 276 yards (69 per game), 2 TDs
*Clausen (12 games) - 25 catches (2 per game), 278 yards (23 per game), 0 TDs

To put it bluntly, Steve probably had to get all his excitement out there, because he might not have gotten another catch that game.

Don't matter if he gives the love back.  Unless he ends on some Rae Carruth sh#$ thats my dude forever.   Too many good memories.  The only Carolina player ever who you can honestly say always gave 100 % every game.

He played with his dick more than he stretched or participated at Wofford.  He had 3 great seasons but was never a team player and to this day doesn't give a shlt about anything but stats.

He gave stats 100%, he never gave more than he had to to this team.  WFNZ is the proof people.

Jerry allowed him to go for a reason.

I wish no ill-will on Steve but TD deserves a statue, SS does not.

DGAF if any of you agree with me or not.  Give me 1 Cam Newton and Thomas Davis and I will see your  8 Julius Peppers and Steve Smith.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
