Hornets select Frank Kaminsky

Seriously? All you MKG dicksuckers, also known as 9/10 of this forum, should be jacking it as hard as possible. We passed up on a guy who would kick your man crush's ass. This proves the FO values MKG over getting someone better than him.

Ahd as for those who say Frank is too weak, watch the final four. Or any basketball game, because you're clearly new to the sport and should try something else. This was like passing up a Ferrari for a Corvette. Not the brightest pick, but we got a really good player who is better than what we had at PF and probably C too. Eat some dicks if you disagree.

It's about fit and we have Clifford deciding the rotation with Zeller, Frank, Hawes, and Jefferson (and maybe Biz still).  He's a solid player but it just doesn't make sense IMO unless we're still making moves.

if Kaminsky and Hawes are ever on the court together? Jesus.

I honestly think Kaminsky will be a decent role player for years to come.  It just sucks that he was drafted, when Winslow was on the board and waiting.  Taking role player after role player isn't going to change the fortunes of the franchise.  Drafting a guy like Justise Winslow, with insane potential, could.

The only thing I can see making this even remotely better is if we somehow ship Al somewhere else.   I feel like Al's defense will never improve and at least Frank could possibly learn defense in at least a way that he will leave his feet to block when he is in the paint.  Last year that was probably the worst thing I remember watching was Al's piss poor defense and just looking like he didn't care if someone scored over him.

I will wait to see how it turns out before throwing a temper tantrum.

None of the fans (myself included) are half as smart as we think we are.

Sadly the trend is already well in place.  We simply cannot draft worth a damn.  Kaminsky should be a fine rotational role player.  He has some unique size/mobility and his jumper, while the release is slow and low, is consistent.  But his deficiencies are clear and sadly quite limiting.  When passion meets disappointment this is what you end up with.

Winslow does not have insane potential.

He is not even projected to be a good NBA 3pt shooter.

MEchanics are iffy and he was clank city all pre draft workouts.

I watched him play enough that he will see plenty of close outs to attack.  the guy shot 41% last year from 3 and over 50 in NCAA tourney.  Kid improved in this area rapidly and is more of a game day shooter atm.  Plenty to see here to be more than confident.  Hes no MKG from beyond the arc.

Edit:  his mechanics look fine.  shot in the mid 60% from the FT line while at duke despite improving to the mid 70s over the last 10 games.

    • From the article: (A)ccording to sources briefed on negotiations, ESPN and the NFL are inside the 5-yard line on another ground-breaking deal for ESPN to acquire NFL Media, the arm of the league that focuses on content and runs the NFL Network. The deal, though different from the way the league and the all-sports network deepened their ties in 1987, comes as ESPN makes its programming available in a direct-to-consumer product this fall. ESPN is hyping this upcoming iteration as “The Next Era,” at a price of $29.99 per month. While a contract between ESPN and the NFL is not signed, the two sides have been closing in on talks that first began four years ago, heated up a little more than a year and half ago and now are the closest they have ever been, with the league even informing its owners they may be needed for a vote on it early next month, as first reported by Sports Business Journal.
    • I don't want a random developmental QB as a backup.  I want someone young who people thought would be a franchise type QB and failed at first, looking for a second shot at redeeming himself in most scenarios.  Pending not a rookie or I got Mahomes or something.    Bryce is a year 3 QB and sort of in no man's land.  Think he deserves real comp sitting on his heals.  A guy that believes he could take the job if the opportunity ever arose and be the guy.
