Would you take these passing stats for Cam this season?

lol, that was barely better than last year after missing two games and playing a huge chunk of the season hurt, with receivers he never threw to before (barely getting time with them preseason) and a crap OL.

bleacher report. meh.

yardage is fine. needs more touchdowns. 3500 + 30 TDs and 10-12 INTs and a few scores on the ground would reflect an efficient, effective offense.

This is my basic expectation as well. I just don't think this is a dynamic explosive offense. Rb seem a bit thin but i don't know what to expect until preseason game 2.

With the improvement in the WR corp and the run game he should have over 4,000 yds  35+ TDS with 67% completion rate.

Passing Projection: 62% completion percentage, 3,600 yards, 22 TDs, 11 INTs

As the Carolina Panthers continue to slowly build around quarterbackCam Newton, his efficiency should keep improving. His accuracy has been an issue thus far, but he should be able to set a career-high completion percentage in 2015. The addition of receiver Devin Funchess should greatly help.

Carolina’s a bit of an oddball in the current NFL landscape. They still prefer to be a balanced team despite having a dynamic quarterback. Their personnel hasn’t been geared toward spreading defenses out, and it’s hurt Newton’s public image.

Nevertheless, Newton is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. He’s a great leader and has shown improvement every season. Expect 2015 to be his best campaign yet.

Thoughts?  And please, add to the thread and don't post poo about it being BR.  It's better than talking about other teams or how we have the same Super Bowl odds as the Jags for Christ sakes.

Cam is the third highest paid quarterback by yearly average pay.

http://overthecap.com/position/quarterback/

so it is simple. If he earns his pay he will be the third most productive quarterback in the league. Doesn't mean passing alone but he should be productive which means score points, get first downs, possess the ball etc.  based on last years numbers He should get 38 total touchdowns, roughly 4500- 5000 total yards and complete around 65% of his passes. Combined run and passing yards.  Maybe 10 interceptions given the vacuum cleaners he has for receivers in Benjamin, Funchess and Olsen. Our redzone production should be way up. If you spy on the quarterback Cam will burn you passing. If you drop back he dives in for a score.

Let him earn his money. It will be a win-win for everyone.

I actually dont care what Cam's salary is, when it comes to my expectations of him. To have higher expectations now would imply that Cam wasn't giving his best effort to date just because he was making less money.

By the same token, I would hope that his production wouldn't go down as other QBs' salaries overtake his (Wilson, Luck, etc)

I'd like to see passing TDs in the 25-30 range as long as we are getting good production from Stew and Tolbert. I'd much rather see a balanced attack than astronomical numbers from Cam.

The only stat I wanna see against cams name this season is NFC Champion 2015. The next few years of stat comparison against cams salary is going to be unbearable.

Once the Wilson, Luck new Eli, Phillip Rivers contracts get done, I think  Cam's contract will be white noise in comparison.

I see Cam having a career year. His health and the talent at receiver are a big reason why. Sure the tackle position is a big question mark. But if Cam and Shula take advantage of the short and intermediate throw, as Cam has said he understands now, then the line can be mitigated somewhat.

I have no problem seeing 65%, 250/gm, and 2 TDs. Giving him 4,000 and 30 Tds and maybe 10 INTs. That would be strong.

This- 30 through the air plus 5 or 6 on the ground for 35 or 36 total TDs.

That's the way it works. More money =more microscopes. Don't you follow pro sports?

this^^^^

plus we are hitching our wagon to Cam until 2020 given all the guaranteed money  so we only go as far as Cam does. We need some championships and unless he plays as a top 5 quarterback we won't be playing in a Super Bowl.
