A Saints fan's "Scouting Report" re: Panthers

Reluctantly agree... Any top tier QB can move the ball on us if the front four don't pressure him. That's how the defense we run works. Dink and dunk can move the ball on a zone D and Brees is good at that. Having said that the Saints aren't very good looking at their roster.

We played a much more basic zone defense at the beginning of last year than we had previously & I believe that was because of the injuries & inexperience in our secondary. Once players were healthy and showed talent within our system, we went to man-to-man & disguised defenses. Benwikere returned healthy & Norman got his groove on and they were freed to play man-to-man & cover tightly. IMO that is why we won the 2nd Saints game but not the 1st. We didn't make any big changes from the end of last season so, if everyone stays healthy, we will sweep them this year.  ::fingers crossed, sacrifices made to football gods::

Cam Jordan was a huge letdown for them last year when he wasn't playing a French Canadian in his first game in the United States.  Even many of their own fans thought his new deal reeked of desperation and blind hope.  Our own Cam (Jerry) literally made their Cam look like Tom from the old cartoon Tom and Jerry in their house last year.

Remember how our D-Line declined after we lost Hardy? Same thing happened to Jordan when their top 2 NTs Bunkley and Jenkins had injury problems, along with their rotational DEs Hicks and Foster. His sack total went from 12.5 to 7.5. They're back healthy, so we'll have to do more than show up to beat the Taints. Not much more than show up, but some effort will be needed.

eh we heard the exact same stuff about curtis lofton when he became a saint.  two down thumper who was supposed to anchor their run defense which would supposedly make up for his inability to cover the pass.

There's certain rules about free agency that you shouldn't break. One of them is never sign a LB from Atlanta. They never do as well for their new team. Keith Brooking is exhibit A. Cardinals will learn this lesson the hard way after signing Sean Weatherspoon.

Taints have first hand experience with their own rule. Never sign a Taints WR. Examples are Joe Horn, Robert Meachem, and Lance Moore. Taints tried to get cute signing Curtis Lofton and it burned them.

according to your rule, does Jimmy Graham count as a WR?  He line up as one quite often, after all.

He wasn't a free agent signing, he was traded, same as Stills was. Next couple of seasons will determine if the rule applies to traded Taints WRs or not, since trades are much rarer than free agent signings.

Lol 6'4 CB Browner.

They are reactiong to us. Too bad we have Multiple 6'5 freaks on offense.

Even so, put Browner on KB for a jump ball. Itll be KBs ball or no ones ball

IE Sherman\thomas jump ball

I actually hope they put Browner instead of Lewis on KB.  Browner is a physical corner, which plays right into KB's biggest strength.  Unless they want to throw flag after flag, the refs are going to let a lot of poo slide in that match up since KB won't be being covered by a midget that's gonna go flailing like a Raggedy Anne doll once KB puts his hands on him.

Bunkley got cut....n

Then it's put up or shut up time for 3rd year NT Jenkins. I'm not automatically dismissing a guy that's 45 lbs. heavier than Star. He's gonna be a handful for Norwell or Turner 1-on-1 so Kalil will probably double him, leaving Cam Jordan 1-on-1 with either Oher or Remmers/Williams.
