Madden Ratings Out, and the verdict is

LUUUUUKE

Recommended Posts

Here's the ratings which released less than an hour ago. Down 2 points from last year.

"CAROLINA PANTHERS (TEAM 80 OVR)

The Panthers won the NFC South (and a playoff game) with a 7-8-1 record last year, their second straight division crown. QB Cam Newton (90 OVR) enters year five with a couple of great targets in TE Greg Olsen (92 OVR) and second-year WR Kelvin Benjamin (86 OVR). HB Jonathan Stewart (84 OVR) is healthy, and the clear starter for the first time in his career.

For the defensive front seven, MLB Luke Kuechly (96 OVR), LOLB Thomas Davis (90 OVR), LE Charles Johnson (89 OVR), and 2nd-year man DT Star Lotulelei (98 OVR) are standouts. CB Charles Tillman (81 OVR) is a quality new addition."

personally a little surprised at Lukes rating, if star is a 98 how can Luke not be a 99? Cam at 90 seems fair, but I also feel it could be a solid 94.

let the gripes and complaints begin, see the link for division rival ratings

What the fug... lol there's no way Star is a 98 overall.  That would easily make him one of the highest rated players in the game.  Ndamukong Suh is their highest rated DT at 96 overall, and Star didn't even make the top 5 DTs.  Has to be a typo and they meant 89 overall.

AFC North way over rated too. But rookie WR Brashad Perrimam is a 73 overall, so I wouldn't expect Funchess to be higher than a 75 overall.

might not be a bad idea to put him at TE in double TE sets just for the mismatches presented. We'll have to see once full player ratings are released.

Star is an 88, definitely a typo on EA's part.

In my opinion Luke, Watt, and Rodgers should be the only 99s in the game. Only a matter of time before luke gets his 99 rating

He's a Panther so it will be 98 for his career.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
