This "running game" everyone keeps bringing up

Kelvin barely got playing time his first 2 seasons, while Funchess was a full blown starter by his second season playing TE.

You see at FSU they get 4 and 5 stars recruits its hard for even a sophomore to get playing time unlike Michigan whose at the bottom of the barrel.

This doesn't negate my point.

Kelvin had one successful season, with a much better supporting cast.

No one w/o homer glasses expected him to do what he did.

There's no reason Funch can't succeed like he did.

there is no reason he cant but we shouldn't assume he will. Benjamin had one of the best rookie seasons ever for a receiver.

Replicating his success is unlikely.

So everyone is worried about our run game, well our team just went up against arguably two of the best front 4 defences in the league this year. No qb sacks. That's impressive. I didn't expect a great run game vs those two teams why are we surprised? They didn't get to the QB!! But if the bills and dolphins didn't stop the run with some of the best DTs in the league I would have been shocked.

The only evidence of a running game I've seen so far has been in the 3rd and 4th quarters of these pre-season games. And we all know the Carolina Panthers 3rd string offense is the best offense we've seen so far.

Funny... I thought for sure I saw CAP busting a couple of nice ones against the Dolphin's 1's and 2's last night.

point still stands, without the read option this running game is mediocre

Yeeeeaahh...In reality, the team needs to  minimize their use of the read option and go to it only sparingly (as has been discussed on here numerous times).

The fact that you advocate the opposite approach doesn't really surprise me.

And he's what, the #2 or 3 RB?

Okay.

What does that have to do with the fact that I was responding to you saying "The only evidence of a running game I've seen so far has been in the 3rd and 4th quarters of these pre-season games"?

CAP, whether he's #2 or #3, ran it well in the 1st and 2nd quarters.  That's not "evidence" to you?

Actually I'm against the read option being used too much, but just going by the numbers and actual games the read options makes our running game go.

But you wouldn't know that
