Bad ass movie quotes

From about 0:42 and on. Best is at about 2:56

"And you hypnotized me huh? Well they got you hypnotized. They got you so mixed up your singing 'My Country Tis of Thee' while they walk all over you." "Right then and there, I knew what I was frightened of."

Pure genius, and one of the best displays of acting ever, by both Poitier and an extremely underrated and under-appreciated (as an actor) Darin. Helps to have seen the rest of the picture though to have some context. By far one of my favorite films ever made.

Enough to wet my apetite. I'll look for it this weekend.

That makes me want to do a revisit. I haven't seen it in a while. I recommend a revisit after 10 years on most movies. I've found that ones I thought were good are even better sometimes and sometimes I ask myself .. Self, did you really like that garbage? (Con Air)

I revisit my favorite films at least once a month. It's a short list. Then others that I love as well but not nearly as much I'll watch about once a year and others I'll forget about after a few years and then have to watch them again. Same thing happened to me with Con Air. First time I saw it I remember enjoying it but I saw it again recently and it was just plain bad.

Pressure Point, 1962. Very under the radar. Very unique directing and way they story is set up as well as terrific acting. There are some scenes that are completely horrifying that make me tremble every single time I watch it. Others that bring tears to my eyes, and ones that give me goosebumps. Poitier and Darin together in this may have the best chemistry of any actors I've seen in any film, and I've seen more films than most. The dialogue throughout the entire movie is just superb. It may not be for everyone, but I absolutely love it. Was watching it with the kids a while ago and they were bored out of their minds. Maybe someday...

One of my most favorite speeches...  Not a movie but amazing speech non the less...

Not a movie you are right but just about every sentence in that speech could be a bad ass quote. Regardless of which isle of the political side someone sits on, everyone should be able to appreciate thiat one.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
