No claims on cuts

Failed project my ass. He catches the ball (better than Boykin did) and can line up at different positions. I doubt they come up with anyone to take his spot this season.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree and see how the season turns out.  I'm not expecting much more than another less-than-impressive 150 yard season out of him again this year.  Would be great if I'm wrong.

How many #4 or #5 receivers produce significantly more? Not that I care one way or the other, but you might want to temper your expectations for role players like Bersin.

If he were worth a poo he wouldn't have been a #4 or 5 on last year's squad (or especially this year's).  That's mostly what I'm saying.  In my amateur opinion we should be using that #4/5 slot on WRs that could possibly develop into more.  Not guys who seem (in my eyes) to have absolutely no potential for developing into more than a #4 or 5 on one of the worst WR corps in the league.  Give Byrd a chance over him, at least Byrd is an unknown and could possibly develop into a decent backup.  And I won't say more about Boykin over Bersin, I've thoroughly beaten that horse to death elsewhere.

I guess Boykin wasn't the player I thought he could be. Fiqured Green Bay would scoop him back up now that they have injury issues. They know him much better then we did. Obviously they passed on him. Coaches where correct on this call it seems.

we cut Bersin, Byrd, Brown....I doubt they get picked up on waivers either.  Heck, Cotchery or Ginn might not either

Funchess is the only certainty....

Bersin is a tall target and is good over the middle. If he does what they're going to ask him to do, I see him contributing again this year (no returns please). We'll only have 3 WR's who were Panthers last year and with Bersin, Cotch, and Olsen, at least there's some continuity with guys who are catching the ball. Brown isn't inspiring confidence in me right now. Hopefully Norwood is the 'hands guy' he's advertised to be, and learns the offense.

And he's still a question mark.

Hundreds of players got cut and every one picked up by another team means another chop. No surprise that few are being grabbed.

He doesn't catch better than Boykin. They're about equal. Boykin can also line up at different positions. However, he actually plays those other positions well.

The only surprise is Boykin. I thought Green Bay would bring him back because he had a decent preseason, and has experience and chemistry with Aaron Rodgers.

This probably tells the tale of Boykin. If Green Bay didn't pick him back up, with their needs right now, there might be something not quite as good about him as we think. He may have lit it up here in the preseason (if any receiver could be said to have done that), but we also have no idea how many times he was the first read, but couldn't get open or was running the wrong route.

I'm hoping Bersin makes it through the cuts. You can't say the guy hasn't worked hard for us and steadily improved his game. He might not post 900 yards this season, he might only grab 200. What matters is how important those couple of hundred yards are. 10 catches, all for first downs? That's a great role player. One touchdown in a tight game? Worth it's weight in gold. Throwing a block downfield to break someone else open for a TD? Moose made a career out of that.
