Panther - Jags Picks

I think this team has finally learned how to beat the teams it's supposed beat. In the past, this team has tried to be something RS not against lesser teams and ended up on the wrong side of the score. Now, you see that every player has bought into the identity and seem to play comfortably in that identity. For me, playing a team like this (one that we should beat handily, on paper) is the best way to start this season. Taking care of business, our way, will be the key to this game. Stay the course, keep pounding.

The Jags defense is LEGIT...and their offense actually looked decent in the preseason...and they are at home...

It's why i'm didn't pick Carolina for my suicide pick this week...

I think Carolina will win though...it's just going to be in ugly fashion...13 -10 type of victory...

It's looking like Josh Norman is going to play which will neutralize Allen Robinson...our D-Line can neutralize Yeldon...we should be fine...

None of the defenses they faced will be half as tough as what they will see Sunday.  They are going to lean what we already know which is our defense is going to be nasty this year. And we will score 24 a game. I think it will be low scoring but I like Newton to drive late and Gano to win it with his foot..

In our last preseason game, you saw our Oline, sans Oher and Kalil, dominate a first/second string Dline from Pittsburgh in the run game.   We will be playing mostly a second string Dline from Jax and I expect a steady string of running plays from our guys. I would expect Cam to have a 150 yd passing game because we run it often and well and move out to a 3 score lead in the 4th qtr.  His best passing opportunities come because of 8 in the box defense from the Jags

Panther football tomorrow.  Run the ball, control the clock, and make the Jags a passing team pretty much the whole second half.

31-16 Panthers

    • Given that the immediate impact we need at edge. We almost certainly address that in Free agency, not in the draft. Same with Linebacker, unless Styles or Allen is still there at 19. I think the same for OT.  What is the position that we could draft in the 1st round and get immediate help in the first is how im approaching their decision-making  I know ill get dragged for this, but im thinking they go DT in the first. A guy that can play right away and be a complement to D.Brown to wreak havoc at the LOS.   So unless a top tier LB is there, I think DT will be the move.
    • I think people forget that by his last season Steve Smith had the ass and he played like it - and for no really good reason other than that other stars were emerging on the team and he didn't want to share the spot light.  He was more of a locker room distraction than he was worth. He went on to have great performances with the Ravens' but G-man made the right move allowing him to move on from here.  I personally think it was addition by subtraction and we don't have a super bowl run with Smith on the roster. Steve Smith remains a narcissist who I've never seen internalize his own culpability when it comes to his relationships with others - it's always somebody else's fault as to why he was forced to act like an asshole. This video is a product ad.  I'm cringed that either of these two Panther greats are party to it.
    • I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.
