By the way, just got to give a shout out to Scott Fowler.  I'm an Observer subscriber, so I just got to log on and read that piece about TD, which doesn't appear to be online (yet?).  It is a truly excellent piece of writing and an awesome profile of and tribute to TD as he begins his 11th season with the Panthers.

Let's see TD get to the ProBowl this year... and even better, let's get him a Superbowl trophy and ring

Go Panthers!  Keep Pounding!

Week 1 GameDay Thread!! It's finally here!

I'm going to savor this and hope we can start the season with a W.

I'll be working 7p-7a tonight and will already be tired, so I need a Panthers win to keep me in good spirits for my patient's sake haha.

Keep Pounding!

Hmmm. This puts some of our opening day losses under Ron in a little perspective.  Tough to game plan when you have no film on a team.  Definitely ups the challenge we'll be facing today

Making matters more challenging is the fact that Jacksonville has a new offensive coordinator in Greg Olson. Interestingly enough, this is the fourth time in five years Carolina is opening the season against a team’s new play caller.

"The unknowns keep me up at night," defensive coordinator Sean McDermott said. "I’ve got a lot of respect for Coach Olson and what he does on the offensive side for Jacksonville. The offense probably has the edge going into the first game of the season just because you’re not sure what they’re working with."

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
