The Texans Are Already Wearing Their Rose Colored Glasses

Why does it consistently feel like members of the huddle are a lot more knowlegeable of all the teams around the league than fans of any other team are of us. It's like not only do they not try to learn about us the thought of doing so is like a disgusting waste of time to them.

Quite frankly, the Panthers have no real weapons on either side of the ball other them Cam Newton.
They strike no fear.
They don't have enough on either side of the ball to really worry about.
This will be a lop sided victory for the Texans.
I'm sorry I didn't add a player profile for this game, but they really don't have anyone worth mentioning that stands out other then Cam.

These jack offs don't even respect our defense.

Just for reference, their 2 games versus the Jags from last year...

27-13 win in Jax.  (Down at halftime)

23-17 win at home. (A comeback win, were losing in the 4th)

Watt and Hopkins scare me...but yeah, a pretty even matchup IMO.  Kelce killed them yesterday, so maybe Olsen breaks out here.  Would be a nice day for Stew to breakout, and limit the chances Watt has to decapitate Cam.

Texans completely shutdown the KC rush game and their rush game is much better than ours.

They probably won't have to devote the same attention to ours which frees up help elsewhere.

Will Olsen have a huge day? Olsen had to block to help the OL much of the day vs the Jags and the Texans are a much bigger task for the OL.   KC's OL didn't need Kelce to holdup

I'm just trying to figure out where our pts can come from.

Our offense is nowhere near the level of KC I hate to break it to you.  Maclin and Kelce alone are top notch, then you throw in Jamaal Charles who can do pretty much everything.  Although the Texans really goofed because it looked like Kelce was way too WIIIDE open on his scores. And in my opinion they are better coached as well.  Reid>Rivera.

Anyway, they're supposed to feel that way about their team.

We can beat them, they can beat us.  You never know.

If our offense looks anything like it did sunday I don't think the Texans fail to capitalize like the Jags.

I know somebody might get butthurt but it's just me being honest but I hope we can get rolling and send them back to TX with another L.

What's the difference between them and the Jags?

QB wise, its worse than Bortles so how are they going to capitalize unlike the Jags?

Cam > Alex Smith

Stewart = Charles

Olsen> Kelce

Ginn < Maclin

I don't know what you're talking about really. It's even to me. People could argue we're actually more talented.

I was more referring to Watt/Cushing/Clowney causing favorable situations for the offense.

I realize the QB situation is less than idea for them but they still have playmakers.  Hopkins can get loose especially if we fall into a soft zone at any point.

I don't agree.  Kelce is a monster.  He's slightly below Olsen.  His YAC and athleticism puts him close but yes Olsen still gets the nod.

Cam vs Smith, yeah but you have to remember who our offensive coordinator /coaches are.

Stewart vs Charles I can't even take that seriously.

Charles > Stewart.  Come on now....

as far as Olsen vs. Kelce...Olsen is more proven.  I mean debating someone on the backside vs someone starting up.   Kelce's ceiling is higher IMO.  They call him baby Gronk for a reason.  He could easily jump Olsen this year l.....but talking of such on this board will bring out the lynch mob.

Only thing clear is Cam > Smith

but you left off OL...and KC OL > Car OL

Two different styles of running. When healthy Stewart is one of the best. You can't really discredit him.

It will probably be a tough game for us. They have a pass rush that is going to give our OL fits, and they weren't exactly stellar against a Jacksonville unit that was missing a lot of key players. We have a big, mobile QB so they aren't going to be bearing down on a statue, but I am very concerned with Cam having enough time to get the ball out. Not to mention that our WR's are absolutely dreadful. Maybe we can get the running game going, I don't know. This will probably be the best DL unit we face.

But, I also don't see a lot of hope for their offense. Hopkins is scary but they have an unsettled QB situation, their OL didn't play well and their biggest offensive weapon(Foster) is highly likely to miss the game. This definitely has the makings of a very low scoring game.

Gano FTW.

    • After Bountygate and the information that came out on the Saints owners shielding pedophile priests in New Orleans it will forever be the Saints numero uno for me. FUG THE SAINTS! I hope this is just the beginning of a long term period of suffering for that shitty organization run by even shittier human beings. #2.Pats/Belicheat #3. Falcons (Mike Vick years then Matt Ryan/Julio running it up) Ryan pooping his pants and 28-3 def makes my bad days always better just thinking of those. #4 Pretty much any franchise fan base thats obnoxious Steelers, Eagles, Bills, Jets, Giants, Cowboys, etc.
    • Thank God DM used that #8 pick on a bona fide WR1 and not some bum pass rushing prospect like Stewart or someone else. I believe Tet is legit WR1 material and going forward will be our long term answer at that position since we desperately were in need of one once they traded away DJ Moore.  Tet could possibly end up even being better long term than someone who I respect a ton as a WR in Moore. Evans has been a pleasant surprise and great TE/FB depth piece going forward who could make the most of his opportunities.  Any good offense worth a damn in the NFL has 3 TEs that can do multiple things and being scared by Ian Thomas play for years should makes us all appreciate what Evans is quietly doing as a ROOKIE at one of the hardest positions to learn at the pro level.  Keep cooking DM. This season is not over obviously but seeing some growth out of young talent finally is a breathe of fresh fuggin air for once.
    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
