SMH.. This is a damn joke. How the hell are the Falcons and Bills both ahead of us or hell even the 0-2 Seahawks for that matter?  I'm sorry, but we deserve top 10 easily at this point. Name for me right now 9 other teams that are clearly better than us

Well.... it could be worse.  B/R had us at #20 yesterday!

It's all to do with the perceived quality or lack thereof of our competition.

I'm not too worried about it.  Let the team continue to rack up the wins without the huge pressure of expectations.  I think we'll surprise people.  Team is coming together well.  There was very nice improvement from game 1 to game 2 in a number of areas.

I admit I took a lot of joy in seeing JAX beat Miami... maybe they aren't quite the awful team everyone thinks.  I think we got lucky playing them in the season opener.

That is the case usually with JAX.  They play really tough however never get over the hump and lose some close games, then they lose confidence, get blown out and have a "normal" JAX season.   I think the win over Miami is a big confidence builder and they are going to surprise a lot of teams this year.

Also it's funny, because of this years Colts team would have started the season with the same schedule and won both games , even with identical scores, they would have been considered Super Bowl contenders.

Don't expect any respect until that hard stretch in the middle of our schedule after our bye.

We win a few in a row in that stretch and the narrative changes.

The good thing about these, is that we know from post game interviews and locker room speeches that these very ratings are indeed used as bulletin board material.

This.  It's just going to take a little longer than 2 games for the national media to give us much respect.  I'm fine with it.  Just keep winning against the teams on our schedule.  All we can do.

#14 seems fair to me.  Need to continue to win games and we will go up.  There are still legitimate questions about how the offense will respond when the defense has an off day or when we play a team like Green Bay that is going to put up some points.

Power Rankings for the first few weeks always are skewed to the previous year's performance anyway.  #20 is too low for a 2-0 team IMO but whatever.  Power Rankings by their nature are extremely subjective.

The little blurb they wrote about us is actually quite accurate

A wee bit too close for comfort at the end for Panthers fans. And how about Ryan Mallett impersonating Cam Newton's Superman touchdown celebration? That was lame. Could you imagine if Cam impersonated Aaron Rodgers' Discount Double Check? People would be all over him for it. I mean, if the towel draped over the head got people fired up about Newton not caring, what would happen if he pulled what Mallett did? #randomfootballthoughts

    • OK honestly I don’t identify like that but if I did I would think about being the first raised on TV generation (bad), we were probably latch key/before the term was invented - because I was raised by a single working parent, stuff like that. No baby sitters until after dark. Afternoons you just waited for an adult to show up. We were the bussing generation where they tried out their social engineering and forcing the races together in school (good and bad in that), and definitely the first bunch to have to deal with the threat of the big bomb going off. I, like everybody else was taken out in the hallway at school and taught how to and where to sit and receive my radiation dose if someone nuked us. And then they killed our president right in front of us. That is probably the most destabilizing thing that gets the least attention. The atomic bomb and the potus killing.  Around t(e same time we had the Beatles and music becoming a youth thing, with the youth gaining economic power they still have today, and top it off with a good memory of childhood - all tne Coke bottle caps had pictures of NFL players in them. We collected them. I particularly remember Mick Tinglehoff Minnesota Vikings lol. Complete with flattop haircut. We had pro football before there was ever a super bowl and in those days baseball was the king of sports in the US.But football was coming for them. And soccer was what weird funny talking foreigners did lol.
    • When Kenny Pickett's arm looks noticably zippier than your starting QB you know problems are ahead.
    • Correction, meant to say Seattle had a limited passing attack in the SB.  Darnold did do enough to win.
