If you dislike RUSH more than Kiss you may want to take up the tambourine...and put the guitar down.

Just kidding

I personally like hollow bodies and they can make most any sound minus really heavy stuff(Lamb Of God, SLAYER) but a classic fender Strat with a maple neck will do.you well.

I love Jacksons for heavier stuff, Semour Duncans pickups. On a budget basis the new Charvels look great.

I have a Charvel Model 6 from 1988 which is neck through body(weighs a ton) with Brazilian rosewood fretboard. It is a Jackson Soloist but made in Japan and are pretty sought aftèr.

Of course if you have the money Les Pauls are beautiful.  Esps are well made. PRS guitars are pretty but I feel overpriced..they are machine made and you pay premium prices.

All are good however.

Amps I would go with a classic Marshall or Mesa Boogie 4×12 cabinet. I used to run a now hard to find Rockman XP-100 for incredible clean tone and decent distortion. Great solo tones but Boston like distortion(since their guiar player made these)

Just get a good amp..if you play a bar you dont need to lug a 4x12 and amp with 100w and 2x10 or 2x12 speaker will be fine..poo I used to use the Xp 100, which looks like a boombox and mic it up. If you have good distortion, delay, chorus and a nice crybaby wah pedal you will be a rock god.

Orange is the current sought after amp today..they look cool and I honestly have little exp with them

i spent a good part of my evening playing an ES-335 on a couple of different amp packages. i found a really nice price/quality combination of a two-channel marshall tube head on a 120w cab, possibly a 240 if i decide to splurge. tubes really are beautiful... there's a solid state that's more in my price range but it just sounded so flat.

i plugged into an orange for a while as well, and i love the warmth on the clean tones but it gets really dark when you add distortion. the marshall setup gives me the classic 90s stack sound with warm, bright crunch, which better fits what i'm trying to play.

gonna make a few more visits this week and then hopefully pull the trigger saturday

I'll throw my two cents in...the only nice electric I've ever owned is an American Telecaster. Absolutely love it. Can get just about any kind of tone you can think of. It's the same model that Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead plays.

they're too twangy for me. nice bright tone but i don't really like the sound they put out with heavy gain.

plus aesthetics is a big thing for me and i've never been a fan of the look. strats are nice but eeeeeveryone has a strat. if i was gonna get a fender it'd be a jaguar... those things are hot

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
