Bias Confirmed

If you watch the vine of when Hochuli was talking to Cam it does appear that Hochuli said, "because you were running." It may just be a case of Cam mishearing what Hochuli said.

I wonder if Hochuli said something like "it's because you were running" and Cam heard, "it's because you're a youngin" or something like that.

That could explain why Cam said in his presser that he was told he wasn't old enough to get that call without those words actually being said, merely interpreted from what Cam thought he heard.

I don't see how Cam could confuse you were running with you are not old enough.

I don't like Hochuli as much as the next guy, but so far this theory makes the most sense to me after seeing that vine, because Cam isn't baffled until Hochuli pretty clearly mouths you were running. I love pitchforks, but I'm gonna chalk this one off to miscommunication.

Yeah, I honestly think that is probably what happened.

Maybe it was just me? But the call on the punt against Teddy that ended up with the saints returning a kick was the worst all day. Don't get wrong there were some bad ones. But that was just plain wrong.

Nope the worst call all day was the "hands to the face" call on Ealy when Ealy had no hands to the guys face.

So its OK to late-hit a runner in Hochuli's world?

By rule, assuming that cam hadn't stepped out of bounds prior to being hit(I haven't seen the replay yet, the NFL has and said it was the correct call) it was the correct call and in Hochuli's world the rules are all that matter.

If you think the rule is bad then your issue is with the competition committee and not Hochuli.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
