I hereby am officially designating Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a trap game. 

Here are a few of the factors that went into making this official designation. 

- Record flooding in Charlotte a distraction, especially to the players with families. I know my thoughts will be at home, so will theirs. 

- Terrible officiating , as outlined here by our own PhillyB. Also, it appears Carolina is getting the worst of the worst, as far as officials go. 

- Tampa is not as bad as you think. They defeated a Saints team with Drew Brees in New Orleans in a much more convincing fashion than Carolina did at home without Drew Brees. 

- Division matchups are rarely anything but a dog fight for the Panthers to begin with. 

- Although AJ Klein is a good player, missing Luke Kuechly started to show itself last week. Tackling was very sloppy. 

In conclusion...

Take this game against Tampa Bay lightly at your own risk.

It took one of Cam's best performances ever to knock off a brees-less Saints team.  Take away Norman's INT, and we likely lose that game. 

With all the noise last week before the NO game about how we were going to dominate them and then didn't, I'm hoping the players may have learned a lesson.

Agree.

 

Plus with the bye coming next week it's easy to overlook Tampa, Winston actually looked good in Houston, his number may not show it but if there's any fan base that knows not to judge a QB's performance by the boxscore it's this one. Winston got the Cam treatment and was letdown by multiple drops by his WR's.

 

Missing Luke his huge if it's rainy and it becomes a battle of running backs, the Bucs OC said yesterday the Panthers D is pretty vanilla without Luke.

 

It'd sure suck having to sit on a loss to the Bucs for 2 weeks...

The players were saying this? I must have missed that.

Not sure if the players did, but pretty much everyone else did.  Did you visit the board last week?  If you hear something enough, even it's outside of your little world, you have a tendency to start to believe it.  Lighten up dude, it's Friday.  We get to drink booze if we wanna.

It's amazing how well a shitty team can look when they are allowed to hold all game.

Other than a few homer fans here, that's about it.

I'm sure some players read the huddle, but luckily they aren't nearly as fragile or fickle as some of the people here.

      Did I say that? Try again. In fact, I said the exact opposite in several respects. I don't run a football team, and I wouldn't presume to know what the ball boy knows, much less Eric Eager (for example). I can only know so much.  I may question someone's opinion within the context of giving my own, but clowning people and personal insults are not my go-to style. Now, as some have learned over the more than last couple of decades, I can and will get stupid with people who get stupid with me.

      Yea, I doubt Panthers can come close to a "fair" deal. Let me check- Morgan Moses signed a 3 year, $24,000,000 contract with the New England Patriots, including $4,200,000 signing bonus, $11,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,000,000. In 2025, Moses will earn a base salary of $2,300,000, a signing bonus of $4,200,000 and a workout bonus of $150,000, while carrying a cap hit of $4,550,000 and a dead cap value of $11,000,000.   Moses is older, but I don't know if Motown would take that, the other point is Id don't think the Panthers can offer this either. They have Icky and then........BY. How do you place a price on BY if he goes out in 2025 and tears up everyone...250 million?!?!?! That's means no RT too.   Just too many players to pay. The Panthers already paid up for OGs and invested 8th, 32, and 39 at WR. Plus tossed 4th and 5th at TE to help BY.  Personally I feel Motown knows this is his last panther season and it means a lot to him.

      I was a Philly Brown truther and yeah he was actually really good for a while. But frankly Coker showed more last year than Philly B ever did. Honestly think Coker could reach peak Victor Cruz level
